There is not a small number of elderly and children in Hong Kong and China who died of pneumonia, bronchitis and other diseases initiated from flu every year.The situation gets worse in the cold winter. To help these groups of people, who are often forgotten by the public, we encourage everyone to
send support and care to them.

 

The amount of waste we dispose of every day has risen dramatically in recent years and Hong Kong is now running out of
land for waste disposal. To minimize the amount of waste produced, we encourage everyone to reduce waste and recycle waste.

With the above concerns in mind, on 6 January 2003, we have launched our Used Clothes Programme. One of the programme's major aims is to re-distribute the collected clothes to the orphans, new-arrival children and elderly people through community centers,our New Arrivals Programme and Mainland China Programme, or resell the clothes for money through Action Market and other collectors, such as recycling merchants or foreign traders. The collected money is used to support our charitable services in Hong Kong and China, especially for the needy, the elderly and the children. With the income generated from selling clothes, we shall buy some rice and food, together with your donated clothes to them. The other aim of the programme is to protect our environment, make it nicer and more comfortable to live and work in.
