"Bowling with Love"- Celebrities and corporations join hands to show their care to Qinghai orphans

To raise funds and to share love and joy to the abandoned and disabled children in Qinghai, we held our "Bowling with Love" Charity Bowling Competition in early June at Thunder Bowl, attracting 18 teams from the entertainment, artiste and commercial sectors.

We had the great pleasure of inviting Mr Ronald Yan Mou Keung, Permanent Honorary Chairperson, Artiste Training Alumni Association; Miss Chuk Man Kwan, Chairperson, Artiste Training Alumni Association; and Mr. Vin Choi Kay Chun, Artist, as our honorable guests and kick off the event with our Executive Director, Mrs. Cheung-Ang Siew Mei.

The Artiste Training Alumni Association and a team made of celebrities gave their full support to this event. Twelve artists split into three teams, including Chuk Man Kwan, Ronald Yan Mou Keung, Freeman Kwok , Tang Wing Kin, Andy Cheung, Irene Wang, Russell Cheung Chi Hin, Ip Wai, Yoe Bin, Tony Wang, Hofman Cheung and YokiMan.

After 3 hours of fun-filled competition, ‘Carrot A’ was the overall winner of the day, scoring a total of 3709 points to win the “The Highest Score in a Series (Team)” prize. “The Highest Score in a Series (Men)” and “The Highest Score in a Series (Ladies)” prizes also went to Carrot A’s Kou Shaun and Xana Wong.

During the prize presentation ceremony, Mrs. Cheung said, "As Father's Day is coming, it is a time of love and sharing, but in our Qinghai’s Xining and Huangnan Children’s Homes, there are a group of disadvantaged, needy children who are unable to enjoy father’s love. So it is our sincerest hope that today’s competition will raise money for them to let them feel our heartfelt love and to improve their living standard with nutritious food, warm clothing, heating, schooling, and medical attention, and to also provide them with true hope for the future!"

In 1998, we started co-managing the Xining Children’s Home with the Qinghai Government, and have been co-managing the Huangnan Children’s Home with the Qinghai Government since last May. We expect to co-manage a total of 8 children’s homes with the Qinghai Government by 2011, whereby 2,000 children will benefit.
