Young Presidents' Organization joined a trip to share love with Qinghai

To share their love and joy with the orphans and disabled children in Qinghai, Mrs. Cheung-Ang Siew Mei, our Executive Director, and 7 representatives of the Young Presidents’ Organization and their families visited our children’s homes from 15-18 June.

During the 4-day/3-night trip, they had the opportunity to visit our Xining Children’s Home and Huangnan Children’s Home, which are co-managed with the Qinghai Government. They also visited the construction site of the new children’s home in the Haidong region, which will open soon, and met with the TongrenCountyEthnicSecondary School students who were awarded scholarships from Christian Action.

One of the Young Presidents’ Organization representatives, Tommy Lee, was very impressed by our children’s homes and the rehabilitation center. “Not only are the facilities of world-class standard, the local staff and management procedures are also remarkable,” he said.

Tommy Lee also had high praise for our work in Qinghai, “I have been working in China for the last 15 years and I have seen and helped disadvantaged children in various parts of China. However, what is special about CA’s efforts is that against extreme difficulties, CA is operating in a high altitude and very sensitive area, helping to save the lives of various ethnic groups, such as Han Chinese, Tibetans and Muslims. I believe that these humble efforts will continue to help them permeate and impact Chinese society and contribute to a truly harmonious society in the future.”

Another YPO member, Mr. Water Cheung, visited along with his son. While they were visiting the EMaoPrimary School, they found that the school’s roof had collapsed. So they immediately decided to set up a websitehttp://skyschool.shutterfly.com (which can also link up to Christian Action’s web site), in order to help raise RMB100, 000 for the repair of the roof, in the hope the children can be back in school in September!
