28th May 2008 is a big day for Christian Action as it is the 10th anniversary of the Xining Children's Home! We held the celebration ceremony at the multi-purpose hall of the Rehabilitation Centre which was established in October 2007. The Xining Civil Affairs Bureau also produced a remarkable commemorative album of the 10th Anniversary of the Xining Children's Home, to retrace and commemorate the advancement and development in the past 10 years

| Madam Song Xiuyan, the Governor of Qinghai Province sent us a letter of congratulations for the celebration of the 10th anniversary of Xining Children's Home, and she expressed her sincere gratitude to us for providing long-term charity support to children's welfare in Qinghai. Staff, volunteers, foster families and local schools joined together and gave a cultural performance at the ceremony. Staff of Xining Children's Home impressed all the guests by donning traditional costumes of the ethnic minorities to perform the Tibetan and Yi dancing. Li-li, who had already been adopted by a U.S. family in July, sang a song “grateful heart" in the ceremony, accompanied by sign language. |  |

| There were no Children's Homes in Qinghai Province 10 years ago. Today, we are celebrating the 10th anniversary of Xining Children's Home with the great and continuous support of Qinghai Government. In the past years, we have seen the children living in the Home getting healthier and stronger, the quality and skills of the medical workers and caretakers had improved, as well as the establishment of the Rehabilitation Centre led more than 141 abandoned and disabled children to receive suitable medical, rehabilitation and special education, which is part of the achievements for which the donors and Christian Action have worked together. We appreciate having you witness and support our humanitarian services in Qinghai Province. The co-management of the Children's Home with the Qinghai Government has also led to a new way of operation of charity services in Qinghai. We will continue to make our best efforts to lead the Xining Children's Home to another splendid decade. |  |

| Huangnan Children's Home begins operation in May this year and this is the second Children's Home we are co-managing with the Qinghai Government. It is located in the Jianzha County of Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture and is situated 1,900 meters above sea level and is 2.5 hours drive from Xining City. We mainly serve the ethnic minorities children such as Tibetan, Mongolian, Tu, etc and we are caring for 112 children, to provide them with education, basic nursing and daily care. In the coming five years, we will co-manage 6 more Children's Homes with the Qinghai Government and 3,000 more children who are abandoned, disabled, disadvantaged and less educated will benefit. We honestly hope you will support the services of Christian Action in Hong Kong as well as in Qinghai Province. Thank you so much. | ||||
