Helping other Ethnic Minorities

In view of the increasing numbers of ethnic minorities settling in Hong Kong, Christian Action is now conducting language classes for ethnic minority adults, to improve their status in the community. The best way to optimize opportunities for employment for the ethnic minorities, is to provide them with access to vocational training courses. Opportunities to learn English and Cantonese are therefore essential for this process.

Ethnic minorities are disadvantaged when it comes to living in Hong Kong in terms of education, social adjustment, and integration. Research has shown that job opportunities for ethnic minorities are limited. The best way to improve their prospects is to upgrade their skills and help them acquire new ones. Language training is a key to this process. It is with this in mind that Christian Action is now conducting language classes sponsored by the Home Affairs Bureau.

Courses are currently running andcost only $100 for 50 hours of teaching time.
