Christian Action has been highly aware of the youth unemployment problem, especially during the economic recession in recent years. With our expertise and experience in training, we became one of the key agencies for the Youth Pre-employment Training Programme since 1999. We extended our support to the older youth (aged from 15 to 24) through the Youth Work Experience and Training Scheme in 2002.

Youth Pre-employment Training Programme (YPTP) starts with job search and interpersonal skills training which is essential at the workplace. After completing the courses, participants can further their studies by choosing industries they are interested in. Courses range from general computer and clerical skills to specialized vocational training, including hotel housekeeping, beauty care and logistics management, are being offered by Christian Action. In the year 2004-05, a total of 73 classes have been conducted. After modular training courses, trainees can participate in one-month-job-attachment for acquiring practical skills and experience.
