OUR AIMS

Promote social integration/inclusion of ethnic minorities and racial harmony in Hong Kong by:

    - Increasing the know-how, confidence and self-help of ethnic minority individuals and community leaders so that they can inspire their own communities to feel more at home in Hong Kong

    - Building up the leadership capacity of ethnic minority organisations, improving their access to community resources and assisting the growth of their influence in society

    - Empowering ethnic minority community leaders and groups to be even more contributive to society and to stand up for the growth of a racial equality

    - Strengthening intercultural collaboration between ethnic minority communities and NGOs and establishing harmonious relationships between local ethnic minorities and Chinese


OVERVIEW OF OUR SERVICES



¡§TRAIN THE ETHNIC MINORITY LEADERS¡¨ TRAINING

A series of leadership training modules custom-made to the needs of local ethnic minorities:

    - Leadership qualities and techniques

    - Social work principles & practice, volunteer management & programme planning, and cross-cultural competence

    - Critical analysis of social integration policies, collaboration with NGOs and policy makers

    - Fundraising / proposal writing, publicity and organisation set-up strategies

    - "Train-the-trainer" in cultural sensitivity


COMMUNITY FUNDING SCHEME

- A (mini) funding scheme providing financial resources and advisory support for organising community activities

- For registered ethnic minority non-profit organisations or their subgroup with proof

- Earn practical skills, knowledge and experience from running a funded community programme

- Should meet the funding criteria according to the project aims

- Vetted by external advisors and project staff

3-MONTH PRACTICUM FOR LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

- An internship opportunity allowing ethnic minority individuals to earn practical leadership building experience on part-time basis at social service or educational agencies

- Under agency and project staff's supervision

- An allowance will be provided upon completion of the practicum
