CA's Youth Pre-employment Training Programme Orientation Ceremony (12 October 2000)


This orientation day declared the official launch of the 2nd phase of Youth Pre-employment Training Programme. The guest of honour was Mr. Alfred Chan, Deputy Commissioner for Labour. We have also arranged for two graduate students and an executive housekeeper of Kimberley Hotel to present an encouraging session to the Youth.


Improvement Awards Ceremony to New Arrival Children
(30 September 2000)



This event was held to give encouragement and recognition to the new arrival children we serve in Yau Tsim Mong District for their good academic performance and voluntary services. We were honoured to have Mrs. Sarah Kwok, Former Assistant Director of Home Affairs Department and Mr. Anthony Chan, Manager (Charities Allocations) of Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust to attend our ceremony. Hotel to present an encouraging session to the Youth.



Official Handover Ceremony of Brick Houses in Zeku County (4 September 2000)


Our Fundraising Committee Chairman Mr. Denis Bray, J.P., and Honorary Secretary of Christian Action's Executive Committee, Mrs. Sophie Hung attended this ceremony to hand-over the keys of the last 100 houses. The recipients were the poorest families within the ethnic Tibetan community located at 3,700 metres on the Qinghai Tibetan plateau in Zeku County.



Official Unveiling Ceremony of Rural Primary Schools in Tongren County (September 2000)

Christian Action implemented the construction of two rural primary schools in Tongren County. In order to commemorate the donation from Lion's Club of Victoria Hong Kong, a ceremony was hosted in Tufung Village in Tongren County and the representatives of Christian Action and Lion's Club of Victoria Hong Kong attended the handover ceremony of the schools to the local Government.



Official Launching Ceremony for CA's Shuttle Bus (5 August 2000)


We have received a generous donation from the Rotary Club of Kwun Tong for purchasing a 25-seater Shuttle Bus, to serve our New Arrivals and Employees Retraining Programme. A key presentation and ribbon cutting ceremony were held at our Head Quarters and officiated by Mr. Kelton Wong, President of Rotary Club of Kwun Tong and Mr. Hau Shui Pui, Chairman of Kwun Tong District Council.



CA's Certificate Presentation Ceremony (1 April 2000)


A certificate presentation ceremony of Christian Action was held on 1 April 2000, and we were honoured to have Mr. Tam Yiu Chung, J.P., Chairman of Employees Retraining Board as the guest of honour. Over 200 graduates turned up at the ceremony, and the courses they had completed include Estate Management and Security, Clerical and computer Skills, Home Assistant, Personal Care Worker, and Tailor-made Security. Last year, our students had attained remarkable results both in the Internationally recognized SIITO/City & Guild and Pitman public exams, with passing rate of 77% and 78% respectively.
