Praise God for providing and protecting Qun, the baby girl from our Xining Children’s Home, in her steady recovery after further treatment in Hong Kong.  Please pray for His continuous healing and guidance after she has returned home in late August.

Most schools in Hong Kong and Qinghai begin their new academic year today. Pray that the Lord bless our students with a diligent, cheerful and thankful heart.  We pray that He would guide them to walk in His way, and that ultimately they would get to know Him personally through our love in action.

Praise God!  Our Training Service Division’s one-stop vocational training service carnival at Sau Mau Ping in late August provided useful job information to the participants in the district.  Pray that they will be better equipped to enter the job market.

Please pray for a sound post-surgical treatment and a swift recovery to our physiotherapist in Qinghai who has recently taken an emergency surgery on his knee in Hong Kong in mid-August.  May God shower him and his family abundantly with extra strength and faith during this difficult time.

The refugees and asylum seekers in our Chungking Mansions Service Programme have collaborated with volunteers from different countries and agencies to launch a CD release named ‘Have a Say!’.  Pray that they will cherish love from our Lord as they elaborate on their gifted musical talents.     6

There will be a TV programme shooting about our after-school learning programme at New Arrivals Services Mongkok Centre.  Pray that it will gain recognition from the public for our philanthropic work, thus glorifying our Lord.

Give thanks! Our Youth Employment and Training Programme (YETP) has secured a funding extension. We are blessed that we can continue to help the unemployed youngsters to realize their dreams and build up a cornerstone and confidence in our Lord as they forge ahead with their career paths.

Praise God!  More churches have joined our Domestic Helpers and Migrant Workers team to carry out the ministry to the foreign domestic helpers and migrant workers.  Pray that more committed parties will join us to reap the harvest.

Students from ‘Manpower Development Scheme’ under the Employees Retraining Board will participate in a festive celebration today, hosted by our YETP.  Pray that all youngsters will enjoy and feel the empowerment as they participate.

Give thanks!  Our Sheung Shui Integrated Employment Assistance Programme holds a party today to celebrate the successful completion of our first phase of volunteering work for our unemployed clients this summer.  Pray that all of them will be empowered by this programme and settle down with a fulfilling employment.

Mid-Autumn festival is just around the corner. Our Integrated Employment Assistance Programme organizes an event to celebrate.  Pray that the clients will greatly enjoy it and feel loved and cared for.   14

Please pray for a seamless co-operation with the Qinghai Government, especially for the children’s home in Huangnan.  Pray that we can strive to improve and minister to the needs of deprived children on the Tibetan Plateau.

Please pray that the Green Collection Programme of our Social Enterprise Division will thrive as we need good quality products for resale in our outlets, to provide an essential income source to finance our ministry work for the needy in Hong Kong.

May God bless our frontline and logistic staff to be enriched by attending the training courses conducted by the Labour Department. Hopefully, their awareness towards occupational health and safety in the workplace will be raised so as to maintain a risk-free working environment.

Give thanks!  Please bless the collaboration between our Ministry Coordination Team and the volunteers from International Christian Assembly (ICA).  They will join hands to launch a home visit under the Agape project this month. Pray that there would be a positive response from the recipients towards the gospel.

The 2nd phase of the faith-based mentorship programme under the Child Development Fund will end in September.  Pray that the Christian mentors will continue to support the forthcoming new phase of the programme as an example of Jesus Christ’s love for children.    28

Praise God! The men’s support group run by our New Arrivals Services Sheung Shui Centre is well received. Please continue to pray that the programme will move on smoothly to cater for the needs of those men newly arrived in Hong Kong and that they will have seamless adaptation to the new environment.
