Our Student Affairs & Youth Training (YETP) team is initiating a school-based programme for primary schools pupils. Pray that the participants will learn more about their emotions, and ways to manage them.

Praise God! Our Domestic Helpers and Migrant Workers programme team has quickly picked up momentum again, after weeks spent renovating one of our shelters.

Today is the last day for Social Enterprise Division’s moon cake tin collection launched in a local property corporation.  Pray that we will continue to find different channels and merchandise for resale in our charity outlets that supports our humanitarian programme.

Please continue to pray for full recovery and effective post-operative treatment for our physiotherapist after his recent surgery in HK.  Pray that he will draw strength from God when he returns to Qinghai.

Give thanks!  Our Training Service Division obtained support to launch a Family-Community Partnership Programme.  It will enhance the positive image and self-confidence of working class housewives in Kwun Tong. Pray that they will see themselves as precious in the eyes of the Lord.

May God bless Dou Ge a teenage girl from Qinghai who had a life saving operation in HK in 2009, to remove a brain tumour. She will have a follow up MRI this month.  Pray that there won’t be any recurrence of the tumour.

Our Social Enterprise Division will promote its green collection programme at a job fair in Kwun Tong in 2013, co-hosted by our Training Services Division and other NGOs. Pray that this will facilitate future co-operation between the two divisions!

May God grant our staff at our Sheung Shui New Arrivals Service Centre with great strength and wisdom.  Pray that the new round of programmes, collaborating with churches in the neighbourhood will offer steady community integration for new arrivals in the district.

Today is Chung Yeung Festival, where going hiking is one of the traditions. Pray that CA staff will rest and recharge as they get back to nature, marvel at God’s creation, and relax outdoors.

We give thanks to God for a successful trip to Qinghai to photograph our work there.  Pray that our presentations will be used as a tool to arouse public awareness about the predicament of underprivileged children on the Tibetan Plateau, and in turn move people to support our ministry.

Please pray for our YETP’s promotional booths, on the street and at various schools.  That they will successfully reach teenagers who need to regain their self-confidence, and direction and learn to dream again, after joining our programme. Amen!

Our Sheung Shui Integrated Employment Assistance Programme enters the 2nd phase of ‘My Step’ today. Pray that all beneficiaries will be enriched through a series of well-designed self-development activities articulating body (sports), mind (career consultation) and heart (discipline) training, and then choose to walk a God-pleasing path.   18

Christian Action UK will hold its AGM and board meeting this weekend. Please pray for each board member who volunteers time to help the unfortunate children in Qinghai. Please bless them with God’s divine wisdom as they plan an effective way to convey and share the message across UK.

Today is our outdoor concert at Clearwater Bay. Pray that every detail, communication and weather will be perfect. May the event garner great support for marginalized children in Hong Kong.

Praise God! Different television programmes featuring our philanthropic services, such as the Child Development Fund mentorship programme, refugees & asylum seekers and new arrival families were screened last month.  We are sure that these shows will arouse public concern towards the plight of these people, and identify us as followers of Jesus Christ. Amen!

Pray that our ministry coordination team will be refreshed after a retreat today.  They will draw much wisdom, energy and perseverance from our Lord to minister through upcoming programmes, serving marginalized youths.   22

Our Sau Mau Ping Integrated Employment Assistance Programme is exploring new volunteer work opportunities in the public library at Lam Tin. Pray that they will open up new learning experiences for unemployed clients, that they will be better equipped and empowered to find jobs through our endeavours.

Give thanks! Our training services division has run several events this week in Kowloon.  Pray that all these seminars and exhibitions will equip job seekers to enter the job market.

Thank God for connecting our ministry for domestic helpers and migrant workers programme with some Muslim groups. Pray that we cooperate together with a heart to serve stranded women with Labour Tribunal court cases, and that our staff would be a witness to our Muslim partners.

Give thanks!  Our ministry coordination team has successfully secured public funding (the 4th Child Development Fund) to embark on a new round of the mentorship programme in Kwun Tong & Yuen Long. Amen!

Please pray for good weather, high levels of participation and smooth running for the charity football tournament, co-hosted with Vine Church today.  This will be a day where, regardless of status, everyone will have a great time. Pray that the event will raise both funds and attention for the refugees, asylum seekers and torture claimants.

Pray that the attendants will be inspired to serve marginalized people in Hong Kong and will make a difference to the world. Most importantly that God will be glorified.   30

Our ethnic minorities team has been invited to provide a half-day training workshop, run by the Social Welfare Department, for local frontline social welfare staff in late November. Pray that our passion and experience will be salt and light, and foster racial harmony in the community.

We are organizing a reunion for Vietnamese (who once sought asylum in Hong Kong) and those who worked with them in refugee camps, in early December. Please pray that they embrace their memories, feel loved; and inspire others to be courageous and faithful even in difficult times.
