Praise God!  There was a very positive response among the body of Christ when Mrs. Cheung-Ang Siew Mei (our Executive Director) visited a variety of churches during her vision sharing tour of the USA in May.  Pray that all these connections would grow into enthusiastic partnerships, supporting our ministry in Qinghai.

Glory to God!  Our Training Services Division (TSD) hosted a successful adventure activity day, for our trade partners, to foster ongoing good relationships, and deepen understanding of our vocational training services. Pray that we will better accommodate their training needs in the future.

May God bless the summer programme at Mongkok New Arrival Service Centre.  Please pray for the seamless communications between the organizations coordinating a wide variety of functions, excursions, workshops and classes.  May God pour out His power, provision and protection upon us!  Amen!    6

Our Social Enterprise Division will launch the 2014 charity book drive for the next two days.  Pray that the event will arouse public awareness in our green collection programme which raises funds to finance our services for the vulnerable and marginalized.

During the month of June we took time out to be together as a family. We spent the day having fun, and getting to know each other, playing team building games and getting away from work pressures. It was a precious time of rejuvenation and strengthening relationships. Pray for us as we continue to fight the good fight of faith as a family.    8

Mongkok New Arrival Service Centre hosted a  government-sponsored induction class for new arrival children and teenagers yesterday.  Pray that they will be empowered and adapt to their new environment swiftly and smoothly.

Please pray for two domestic helpers currently in our shelter who are battling leukemia and cervical cancer. Pray that they are encouraged by those that surround them, for God’s provision, and His protection and healing.      10

Marriage and family relationships are under strain as people face great life changes and financial difficulties. Our Sheung Shui New Arrival service centre will hold a family photo session to help facilitate family relationships and communication between family members.

Today we will move into the new Shun Tin Training Centre. Pray that all training programmes will prepare the unemployed in Kwun Tong to re-enter the job market with greater ease.   12

TSD, in collaboration with an organization in Kowloon East will run a day camp for families today. Pray that our vocational training helps to promote community harmony in the district.

A vision sharing tour visiting our children’s homes in Qinghai has just returned.  Pray that our guests and supporters have recognised the plight of the children and are moved to invest both spiritually and financially in their future.   14

Our Integrated Employment Assistance Service (IEAS) Sau Mau Ping Centre will launch the “My Step” programme, for the unemployed and disadvantaged youth, including counseling, and training on motivation and discipline. Pray that this would be a good platform to share the gospel with them.

Our Social Enterprise Division will host a charity drive in Wong Tai Sin. Pray for us as we continue to expand our network in different districts in Hong Kong, with co-operation and support from a variety of district councilors.   20

Praise God!  Lily, a baby girl from Xining Children’s Home, returned to Qinghai in June after she was fitted with a hearing aid in Hong Kong. Celebrate with us this gift of hearing she has been given!

The Christian Action Asia team (CAA) in the U.S. has a fund development goal of HK$3 million for 2014. Praise the Lord, we are half way there! Pray for a widening circle in the USA, for more people to embrace our vision, so that more children in Qinghai can be rescued and nurtured.   22

Mrs. Cheung, our Executive Director, will attend a meeting relating to the new term committee of Qinghai Province Overseas Friendship Association.  Pray for continuing good relationships with the provincial government so we can bring love and hope to children on the Tibetan Plateau.

Volunteers from our Sheung Shui Integrated Employment Assistance Service (IEAS) Centre will begin paying visits to homes for the elderly.  Pray for precious moments, and that they would truly begin to understand that “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Acts 20:35   24

Many thanks!  We have recently obtained generous donations of clothes from a private corporation. Pray that we continue to receive good-quality items to sell through our charity outlets, a valuable source of income which finances our work for the needy in Hong Kong.

Over the next two weeks, we will partner with a language centre to arrange a series of workshops for the children and women from our Mong Kok New Arrival Service Centre.  Pray that they will be better equipped for an environment where they use a dialect different from their own.   26

Please pray that our team and clients at Chungking Mansions service centre will draw power, hope and perseverance from God during this very difficult season.

Give thanks!  The “Youth Ambassador Scheme for the Ethnic Minorities” has been approved. Pray that this initiative, appointing a team of ethnic minority youths as ambassadors will reach the community, promoting greater integration.

Many children from our Sheung Shui New Arrival Service Centre will return to their hometowns in the mainland China over the summer as their parents have to work and are unable to care for them. Please pray for their safety.    30

Please continue to pray for five Youth Employment and Training Programme (YETP) students who are doing their internships at CA.  May they be empowered with strength, patience and wisdom from our Lord so as to overcome every challenge they face.  Pray that this experience will improve their workplace skills.

Please pray for the Season of Love charity drive as we are seeking support from donors.  Pray that our preparations are smooth, and the circulation channels reach wide and broad.
