Ten outstanding students from Huangnan Children’s Home recently visited Hong Kong and Macau. Please pray for them as they return to their studies, that they will be inspired by what they have seen, and apply themselves to their studies with renewed vigour.   4

Our Social Enterprise Division, which finances our social services division, needs additional sources of ladies wear and small electrical items, major income earners. Please pray for increased donations of these items.

Today is Sewa Day, and next week, many of our clients from Chung King Mansions Service Centre for Refugees and Asylum Seekers will set out to donate time and resources for the benefit of others, without wanting anything in return. Pray that they will get to know Jesus Christ, who was the ultimate sacrifice, who never expects anything in return.    6

s Integrated Employment Assistance Service (IEAS) Sheung Shui Centre recently partnered with a local university, conducting a feasibility study on a proposed job incentive initiative for welfare recipients. Praise God, 80% of our clients completed and returned their survey questionnaires!

As Christian Action(CA)’s green collection partnership with Island Shangri-la Hong Kong comes to an end, please pray that our donors understand that their donation is not just a way of saving the environment, but an indirect action of love for the vulnerable we serve.    8

Our Mongkok New Arrivals Service Centre had embarked on a community-based project that provides holistic development services for school students. Pray that our partners, the students and their parents will be inspired to seek God as they connect with us.     14

The Sau Mau Ping Integrated Employment Assistance Service Centre will collaborate with their local library, providing opportunities for the unemployed to obtain valuable work experience, and build self-esteem and confidence.

Upon collaborating with several kindergartens in the New Territories, our Sheung Shui New Arrival Service Centre has developed a series of activities to aid cross-border families to develop family relationships. Pray that all these activities will help them to strengthen family ties.   20

In keeping with the government’s desire to meet the needs of ethnic minorities in HK, we launched the Ethnic Minorities Youth Ambassador Scheme over the summer. Please pray that our team will continue to touch the community and promote integration.

We will submit a proposal to the Estate Management Advisory Committee Fund to finance a training services carnival in Wong Tai Sin. Pray that they will understand our desire to empower the community.   22

Over the next six months, our Ministry Coordination Team will be collecting used household items to redistribute to the elderly in Tin Shui Wai.  Pray that the givers and receivers will deepen their connection with each other through this exchange.

Please pray for Lu, Sing and Jun who have recently moved to the Xining Social Welfare centre. They need assistance adjusting to their new environment. Pray for God’s hand to be on them.    24

Domestic helpers in Hong Kong are from several different countries of origin. Please pray for our staff, who assist domestic helpers with their labour disputes, many times in a different language and using differing cultural references.

Our Training Services Division is currently exploring ways of working with additional partners to bring a wider range of services to a greater number of service users. Pray that these partnerships are able to offer increasingly dynamic opportunities to the ever changing marketplace.    26

Xining Night News recently covered the opening of Xin Ning Court, our small group homes at Xining Children’s Home. Please pray for increased acceptance of disabled children within the Xining community.

Christian Action Asia will be hosting a vision sharing dinner on 21 November. Please pray that it will be well organized, well attended and positively received. Pray also that people would catch the vision to support children in Qinghai!    30

Hong Kong has just completed a public consultation regarding the city’s discrimination laws. Pray that all people in this city would understand the need to love one another, not just be driven to do so because the law requires it.

The Season of Love Charity Cookie sale is being launched next month. Please pray for God’s blessings, and that we would reap the fruit of our labours after months of preparation. The proceeds will be used to support our ministry in Qinghai and Hong Kong.
