Our Social Enterprise Division secured another collection spot at a new private housing estate. Please continue to pray for God’s favour over us, to widen our collection area even further, as there is stiff competition in the market place for used goods collection!

Praise God for the divine appointments made by Mrs. Cheung-Ang Siew Mei, our Executive Director, during her recent visit to the UK. Pray that these connections will bear fruit, and we will be able to reach the lost with the good news that God is able to supply all our needs.

Mrs. Cheung-Ang Siew Mei will host a luncheon today in her capacity of deputy director of Women’s Committee of HK CPPCC (Provincial) Members Association.  Pray for the success of this event that highlights the sustainable development of Hong Kong and help participants to map out future plans. New Arrivals from Mong Kok Centre will join a group of people recovering from mental illness at a music workshop today, where they can get to know one another through African drumming and dance. Pray for God’s grace over these two vulnerable groups of people as they build community with one another.

Service recipients from our Integrated Employment Assistance Service Sau Mau Ping Centre have just completed a one-year work experience. Please pray that they will be able to find jobs where they can utilitise their newfound skills.

Over 100 people found jobs, and a further 200 were granted second interviews during a recruitment day at Kwun Tong Community Centre organized by our Training Services Division last month. A further 70 enrolled in retraining programmes to better equip themselves for the labour market.   14

Almost 5000 people have now died from the Ebola virus. Please pray that God would reveal solutions to His people, as experts fear the deadly virus could spread globally. Amen!

Our Sheung Shui New Arrival Service Centre will organize marriage enhancement workshops specifically for cross-border families in the northern district facing relationship challenges due to extremely difficult living conditions. Please pray that they would see God’s design and blessing on marriage.   16

Please pray for the Social Enterprise Division who will be reaching out to a group of corporate executives, teaching them the value of environmental protection through donating unwanted household goods to the underprivileged and needy, rather than sending it all to landfill.

A new batch of volunteers from the Sheung Shui Integrated Employment Assistance Service Centre will begin visiting the elderly living alone this month. Please pray that they too learn, “it is more blessed to give than to receive”. Acts 20:35

Christian Action Asia (USA) will host a dinner to raise funds for the children of Qinghai today.  Pray that this event will attract more friends willing to support our ministry to bring hope and love to the children and youth on the Tibetan Plateau.   22

Staff from our Mong Kok New Arrival Service Centre will be sharing about reaching out to the poor and needy with new churches today.  Pray that they will support us as we follow Jesus example and bring love and hope to new arrival families.

Chungking Mansions Service Centre will be hosting the "2014 Charity Football Tournament" today to raise funds for psychosocial services for our clients.  Pray that we can garner enough support to serve refugees and asylum seekers stranded in Hong Kong.   24

Our Training Services Division has organized several events in November to empower the disadvantaged and poorer sector of the population, particularly new arrival women, welfare beneficiaries and single parent families.  Pray that our services will raise their self-confidence and courage to face the challenges ahead as they re-enter the job market.

Please pray for our Domestic Helpers and Migrant Workers Programme as we search for larger premises, in order to cater for an increasing demand for our services, from a larger number of ethnic groups.      26

Our ministry coordination team will be hosting numerous community service projects along the lines of “Support Recycling; Embrace Green Living” through the church network in the northern New Territories. Pray that this would continue to build community within the poorer section of the community.

A teenager, Jie, from Guoluo Children’s Home suffering from pleurisy and hydronephrosis (water in the kidney) has undergone a series of treatments and surgery this year.  Please pray for his recovery, and particularly that he doesn’t lose one of his kidneys.

Please pray that we will retain our headquarters as we strive to serve our needy clients.  Pray that the Town Planning Board will carefully consider our impact and contribution to the people in the vicinity and consider CA as an integral part of their redevelopment plans.

CA is one of the NGO’s who recently benefitted from a charity football fundraising tournament. Give thanks with us for the generosity of the Civil Servants Labour Union who took part in the tournament and included us as a beneficiary.
