Praise God! Christian Action Asia (CAA)’s Vision sharing dinner in November was a resounding success.  Pray that many more people will partner with us to achieve our vision and mission to save and serve the children of Qinghai.

Our Integrated Employment Assistance Programme for Self-reliance (IEAPS) Sheung Shui Centre is partnering with a Christian service agency, running a volunteer programme for service recipients trying to reenter the workplace. Pray that they will pursue God’s purposes for their lives.   4

Let’s pray that the body of Christ in the United Kingdom will respond positively to God’s call for them to join CA’s ministry in Qinghai China, to care for vulnerable children on the Tibetan Plateau.

Sixty single-parents and their children, from our Mongkok Service Centre for New Arrivals, will attend a banquet today. Pray that they will be blessed and understand that ‘Man is not to live on bread only. Man is to live by every word that God speaks.’        6

Our Social Enterprise will have a stall at a carnival in Kowloon City organized by the Home Affairs Department today.  Pray for good sales figures during the festive season, the profits of which are used to finance our humanitarian services in Hong Kong.

Today our Training Services Division will co-organize a carnival for Kwun Tong residents. Pray that this event will foster a more harmonious Hong Kong in the midst of an increasingly complicated socio-economic situation.   8

Winter has arrived!
Our Chungking Mansions Service team has initiated a winter clothing drive. Please pray that the initiative will arouse public awareness to donate warm clothes and other useful items to refugees and asylum seekers waiting in Hong Kong.

Give Thanks! The Education Bureau will soon roll out the details of the Applied Chinese Learning Examination, geared to non-Chinese speaking students who will be taking the HK Diploma of Secondary Education Exam. This will increase ethnic minority students’ chances of entering tertiary education institutions.    10

God has brought us a very committed person to head our bridging programme for special needs teens who will be moving to Xining Social Welfare Institute.  Pray that the programme will run smoothly with seamless coordination among all parties involved.

Please pray for the residents of the public housing estate in Tin Shui Wai where we will be hosting a carnival to promote healthy living and social harmony, building community between residents of one of the most disadvantaged communities in Hong Kong.    12

Please pray that CA is included in Kwun Tong District redevelopment plans. We need God’s provision and protection if we are to serve the displaced and disadvantaged from our present location beyond 2017.

We will organize a reunion day for all trainees who have completed courses at our Lam Tin Training Centre over the last few years.  Pray that their ties to CA are strengthened; that they feel empowered by our work and will continue to support us.     14

Our team working with Ethnic Minorities will celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ with their service users this Christmas. Please pray that they will understand the meaning of Jesus’ birth as our staff share His story with them during the celebrations.  Amen!

Today is CA’s annual Christmas party. Pray that all board members and staff are able to put aside the stress of their workloads and celebrate the birth of Christ. Let’s say, “Hosanna! Hosanna!” to our Lord, and remember that Jesus Christ is the one we look to and rely on.     16

To address the increasing demand, and to cater for foreign domestic helpers who fall ill and suffer some form of physical disability, we are now planning to open a shelter with a lift.  Please pray that our plans come to fruition.

Congratulations!
Our Social Enterprise Division received an award from Hong Kong Productivity Council recognizing our service and contribution to the community. Pray that the public continues to recognize our efforts to reach the marginalized in Hong Kong and that God continues to get all the glory.

Please pray for CAA’s festive season mailing campaign that many will send financial gifts to help CA serve almost 800 orphaned and "at risk" children in Qinghai! Amen.

We will host a carnival for the local residents close to our headquarters, sponsored by the Kwun Tong Home Affairs Department. Pray that it will enhance social integration as the area experiences rapid urban redevelopment.   20

Sheung Shui New Arrival Service Centre and the University of Hong Kong-Shenzhen Hospital have co-organized an off-shore seminar for our cross-border family clients.  Pray that the event will better equip parents to meet their children’s needs, and familiarize them with the education system in Hong Kong.    22

Please pray for the Youth Employment and Training Programme trainees, that they build confidence in our Lord as they prepare themselves to face the challenges of the workplace in the future.

Significant numbers of children will return to their hometowns in mainland China during the holidays. Pray for safe travel and happy reunions with their extended families.   24

This Christmas eve, pray for more people, regardless of race, age, gender or religion, to embrace CA’s goal to help the needy, helpless and loveless in Hong Kong and Qinghai.

Merry Christmas!
Joy to the World, the Lord is come! Let earth receive her King… Time to rejoice, time to celebrate.  Pray that domestic helpers and refugees and asylum seekers, especially our service recipients, who are far away from their homes and families, and experiencing hardship, will know God’s protection and provision and that they will come to know Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.

The third intake of students participating in the Child Development Fund programme will graduate this month.  Pray that the mentor-mentee relationship will be centred around God and that participants will spread the message of God’s goodness to others in their community.

Christian Action’s Sheung Shui Choi Wu Training Centre is now under renovation.  Pray that the centre will open on schedule to provide training services to the residents in vicinity who want to improve their skills.    28

Two different CA service teams are now sharing premises in Sau Mau Ping. The offices are smaller than before, so please pray for them as they strive for to serve under more trying circumstances.

We will be one of the beneficiary organizations, benefitting from a charity walkathon fundraiser in Kowloon East in 2015.  Pray for smooth communications among all organising parties; and high levels of public participation in this wonderful event.

Today a group of volunteers, from the IEAPS Sau Mau Ping Centre, will serve at a social service centre for the elderly in Kwun Tong.  Afterwards they will visit the elderly living alone in Ping Shek Estate. Pray that this activity will bring a sense of community into the homes of those they visit, and that all the volunteers will understand that God loves a cheerful giver.

2015 is CA’s 30th anniversary year.  May the Lord renew the strength and faith of all board members, staff, supporters, prayer partners and volunteers; and may CA continue to soar as we serve the Lord.
