Thanks to all your prayer and support our “Season of Love” Charity Drive, which ended in February, raised over HK$800,000 for underprivileged children in Hong Kong and China.

May God empower Christian Action as we remember the crucifixion. Pray that we are reminded that He will be with us to meet the needs of our clients: “Truly I tell you, in so far as you did it for one of the least of these My brethren, you did it for Me.” Matthew 25:40

Our Training Services Division has recently submitted a number of funding proposals.  Please pray that they are approved so that we can offer more training which emphasises social services in the community, and that community harmony will improve as Christian Action tries to bring light to our neighbourhood.

Ching Ming Festival (Tomb-sweeping Day) took place on Sunday.  Some service recipients from our new arrival service centres may have travelled to mainland China to pay tribute to their ancestors.  Pray that they would realize the futility of ancestral worship, and come to know the one true God.     8

Please continue to pray for Fong, a young girl from HuangNan with heart disease, who recently travelled to Shanghai for cardiac surgery. Her surgery is scheduled for early April, please pray for her as she builds up her strength in anticipation of the surgery.

Our Domestic Helpers and Migrant Workers team ran a wonderful advocacy and fund raising campaign last month. Pray that more donors will come forward to support us.

We have started recruiting students and mentors for our next mentorship programme.  Please pray that we will be the light of the city, spread the gospel to underprivileged children, walk alongside them and teach them to seek God through this programme.

Please pray that an increasing number of individuals, families, churches and organizations in the USA will respond to the call to serve, pray and reach deep into their pockets to support our ministry on the Tibetan Plateau.   12

Please pray for several refugees in Hong Kong who were recently rendered homeless, that they will quickly locate new shelter for themselves.  Pray for us as we do our best to lend a helping hand to the most vulnerable among them.

Today sees the launch of a new “Green Collection Activity” at a private housing estate. Please pray that we will collect good quality used items for sale in our outlets, sold to finance our charity work in Hong Kong.   14

Our Social Enterprise Division will be interviewing candidates for our summer internship programme this week. Pray that more youth will be motivated to join CA to serve the marginalized in our community.

A team of volunteers from the Integrated Employment Assistance Programme for Self-reliance (IEAPS) will visit an elderly home to share the good news about Easter. Please pray for open hearts to receive the good news of the gospel as they go forth. Amen!      16

Volunteers from the Rotary Club will visit new arrival families over the weekend. Pray that they will feel loved and accepted by Hong Kong people, who have recently been very resistant to new arrivals from mainland China.

As the population of Hong Kong ages, the healthcare system faces increasing demands. Pray for the government as they search for solutions following their recent public consultation regarding voluntary health insurance.      18

Our Integrated Employment Assistance Programme for Self-reliance (IEAPS) enters a new cycle of services this month.  Please pray that they are a light in this city; and assist the disadvantaged to re-enter the job market soon.

Our Ministry Coordination Team co-organized a carnival in Tin Shui Estate.  Pray that we continue to minister the Lord’s message in terms of care, vibrancy and harmony in the community now that we have successfully engaged with the community there.     20

Please pray for more businesses to accept ethnic minority youths into their internship programmes. This will provide the youth with valuable opportunities to gain real life experience in the workplace, and develop their career paths.

A few students in the Youth Employment and Training Programme (YETP) will soon complete their on-the-job training through Christian Action. Pray that they will be confident of their workplace skills, and walk closer to God.   22

Our New Arrival Service Centre in Sheung Shui will organize a wide range of activities such as parent-child reading sessions, parenting workshops and home visits to the elderly living alone. Pray that we are able to improve social inclusion through these activities.

Our Domestic Helpers and Migrant Worker Programme has moved to new offices in Kwun Tong. As most of our clients hear about us by word of mouth, please pray that the news of the move will quickly become known, and those needing our services will easily find us.

Praise God for empowering our Human Resources Division to complete the enormous task of generating tax forms for each of Christian Action’s staff as the last fiscal year came to an end.     26

Give thanks!  Christian Action celebrates its 30th anniversary this year.  To mark this milestone, we will launch a series of events including a photo exhibition and a charity dinner. May God guide us as we prepare for these events, especially the logistics and communications.  Amen!

Praise God!  We’ve had another very successful 3-Legged Charity Walk this year.  A large number of walkers joined us to raise funds for orphans in Qinghai.  Thank you for your prayers!

Funding for our Support Services for Ethnic Minorities, and Youth Ambassador Scheme runs out this summer.  Pray that we will be equipped materially and spiritually to help our clients to deal with the challenges ahead.
