Kit, a baby boy from HuangNan, born with Klippel-Trénaunay-Weber Syndrome, started receiving medical treatment in April.  Pray for God’s hand to be on him during his treatment, and that he will be completely healed.

Mrs. Cheung-Ang Siew Mei, our Executive Director, will meet new and existing friends of Christian Action in the USA over the next two weeks.  Pray that her sharing will touch people’s hearts and draw them into partnership with us.    4

Our Sheung Shui Training Centre officially opened in April.  Pray for vision and wisdom for our Training Services team as they plan vocational training oriented to the needs of the unemployed, and that we are able to better equip the job seekers in the vicinity.

Please pray that different political sectors in Hong Kong show mutual understanding and tolerance of one another; and be willing to discuss their differences.  We need a consensus on constitutional reform for the city to thrive!

Fong, a young girl with heart disease, is making a slow recovery after recent cardiac surgery in Shanghai.  Please pray that she will be strong enough to return home to Huangnan safe and healthy.

Starting from May, Sau Mau Ping Integrated Employment Assistance Service Centre will embark on a two month, innovative volunteer service programme in an elderly home.     8

Tomorrow 15 students from our Mongkok Service Centre for New Arrivals will participate in an outdoor activity at our onsite climbing wall, along with some volunteers from a local private enterprise.  Pray that all participants will derive great pleasure from it.

Our Social Enterprise Division will launch a “Green Collection Charity Drive” in a new private housing estate in Kowloon West over the weekend.  Pray for good-quality used items that we can sell through our charity outlets, that partially finance our services in Hong Kong.   10

Last Saturday students from our New Arrival Mongkok Service Centre’s child care service enjoyed an art jamming session. Pray that through art and creative expression they will learn how precious they are in the eyes of their Creator.        12

Our IEAPS San Fung Avenue Centre will start a new service programme for unemployed youth through an adventure training activity, to improve their self-confidence and inspire them to think deeper about their spirituality.

The city’s statutory minimum wage was increased on 1st May. Pray that grassroots people have a better quality of life through improved legislation in this area.

We received a large donation of much needed bedding, which we distributed to domestic helpers and protection claimants in our programmes. Please pray for these people whose circumstances mean that their basic needs often go unmet.

The Friends of Qinghai Children Annual Report 2014 has been released. Pray that through this, we are able to communicate the needs of these vulnerable and marginalized children in Qinghai, and inspire more people to join us.

Christian Action UK will erect a booth at St. Andrew’s Church in Churchdown to promote CA’s ministry helping disadvantaged children in Qinghai.  Pray that people will respond positively and support our vision and mission.  Amen!   18

Pray for divine inspiration as we plan our celebrations and promotional materials, that we are able to share how God has blessed and inspired us over the last three decades.

We are exploring possible partnerships with two new schools to execute our school based mentorship programme. Pray that our Ministry Coordination Team secures an opportunity to broaden the horizons of participating youth and teach them about the Lord.    20

New travel policies are limiting the number of visits mainland Chinese residents can make to Hong Kong every week, so we now have fewer parents attending our education seminars. Please pray for them as they now have less support from our programmes, and also that they would learn to rely on the Lord.

Please pray for the students who failed the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination, as well as early school leavers. Pray that they would be drawn to our Student Affairs & Youth Training Programme (YETP) where we can help them to discover their passion and direction in life, and where they can realize their dreams and learn that God has a plan to prosper them.      22

Pray for more Christians to join Chungking Mansions Service Programme for the refugees and asylum seekers as prayer partners, volunteers or supporters in response to His call “to act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.” Micah 6:8

We are expecting a large influx of used clothing this month as people clear out their wardrobes to make room for new clothes. Pray that we are able to bless the less fortunate in our community through selling this high quality used clothing to them through our outlet stores.    24

Please pray for the safety of cross-border children who spend several hours a day commuting to and from school; especially pre-schoolers, many of them unaccompanied by a parent.

Thank you for all your prayer and support for our “3-Legged Charity Walk”. We raised over HK$600,000 for underprivileged orphans in Qinghai.

Some foreign domestic helpers in our care are facing stressful trials at the labour tribunal, and desperately need valuable pro bono legal advice to secure their unpaid entitlements.  Pray for them to cultivate a deeper understanding of who God is through our services.

Pray that our programmes for Ethnic Minorities are granted the funds to continue after the summer, assisting our beneficiaries to integrate with their community.          28

Today our Training Services Division will organize a large-scale job fair at Kwun Tong Community Centre. Please pray that the event effectively reaches the most needy and provides useful information to them.

Please pray for the health and safety of our Executive Director, Mrs. Cheung, as she travels to the USA. Pray that she is able to secure much needed support for orphans and abandoned children in Qinghai.    30
