We are launching our Green Collection programme at a local bank this month.  Pray for good-quality used and new items we can resell through our outlet stores which partially finance our charity work in Hong Kong.

Yesterday we spent the day encouraging and recognizing the contributions of 50 volunteers from Sau Mau Ping Integrated Employment Assistance Service Centre (IEAPS) who gave their time over the last year.  Pray that we effectively convey the message that “It is better to give than to receive”.

Mrs. Cheung-Ang Siew Mei, our Executive Director, planted many seeds during her recent vision sharing trip to the USA.  Pray that all these connections bear fruit to become a support network for our ministry to underprivileged children in Qinghai, one of the poorest provinces in China.

Give thanks for a big-hearted supporter who recently spent five days at Xining Children’s Home in Qinghai, training the local staff to meet the children’s speech therapy needs.  Pray for more compassionate and competent people to give us a helping hand.     6

Many children under the care of our Mong Kok New Arrival Service Centre will sit for their internal final school examinations.  Pray that their hard work will yield their best results yet.   8

A five-month-old baby girl, Feifei, from our Xining Children’s Home, born without external ears, arrived in Hong Kong for a comprehensive medical examination last week. Pray for God’s healing hand on this precious baby girl.

Please pray for His divine wisdom for Christian Action UK so that more Christians across the country will be motivated to support our ministry as donors and prayer warriors, who persevere in giving love, care and support to the needy children on the Tibetan Plateau.   10

Please pray that our Ministry Coordination Team secures the school-based mentorship programme with two schools in Yuen Long and Tuen Mun. We will be able to invest in the lives of vulnerable teens, widen their life horizons; and develop their spiritual insight.    12

CA was the only training provider chosen by the Employees Retraining Board to conduct a series of workplace tours in Kwun Tong from June to September.  Pray that these activities will update job seekers with the current job market.

CA has completed the photo shooting for our 30th anniversary photo exhibition! Please pray for our first exhibition scheduled to take place in Tuen Mun from tomorrow onwards. Pray that it will create goodwill for Christian Action across Hong Kong.

Please pray for peace in the hearts of the ladies living in our shelter for domestic migrant workers, as they undergo daily mental and emotional struggles. Pray for God’s protection and provision during this challenging time in their lives.

Please pray for Kit and his family in Huangnan. Kit has Klippel-Trénaunay Weber- Syndrome. Surgery to remove his affected right hand should relieve the burden on his heart.        16

We are reaching the final stages of the recruitment stage of our fifth batch of mentors and mentees. Pray that the relationships that develop as a result of this programme will broaden the mentees’ perspective; and create a way to share the gospel with the mentees and their families.

Very high living costs in Hong Kong mean that many grassroots families have to work long hours to earn a living, leaving little time for family relationships. Sheung Shui New Arrivals Service Centre is hosting an activity to arouse awareness of the importance of spending quality time together, especially between fathers and their children.

Some volunteers from San Fung Avenue Integrated Employment Assistance Service Centre will visit single elderly living in public housing estates in the area to celebrate Father’s day today.  Pray that the volunteers feel God’s love as they follow Jesus, giving of themselves while expecting nothing in return.

The “Share to Love Charity Book Drive” which will take place in July, raises funds from the sale of used books.  Pray that we are able to raise awareness of the importance of recycling through our green collection programme.

The Training Services Division and Social Services Department will be hosting an interview skills workshop for job seekers over the next two days.  Pray that our service recipients will be empowered to enter the job market with greater ease.   24

Today volunteers from the Rotary Club and ICA will organize celebrations for children from our New Arrival Mongkok Service Centre’s afterschool tutorial classes as the school term ends.  Pray that these activities will help ease tensions between Hong Kong people and mainland Chinese, and that new arrival families will feel accepted by the locals.   28

Christian Action Asia (USA) will host a vision trip to Qinghai this summer.  Please pray for more interested friends that will truly understand the plight of orphaned and abandoned children in Qinghai, so we can build a greater network of supporting partners. Amen!
