Praise God that our 30th anniversary micro-film : “Invisible Men” is complete! It has been uploaded to our web site and  broadcast via different media and social networks, on public transport, and even in some fast-food restaurants.  Pray that more people will be raised up to embrace our mission.

Some of the younger children from our Sheung Shui New Arrival Service Centre are now advancing to primary school and starting to commute to school across the border by themselves.  Please pray for them to adapt to new school environment and new dialect (Cantonese) quickly with our service support.

Our Information Technology Department will replace our server power back up this week.  Pray that the project will progress smoothly to maintain system stability and avoid electricity suspension in future.    4

Our Training Services Division has co-organized a series of activities based around the theme of “New Women‧New Hope” from August to early December providing vocational training, workshops, workplace visits, job recruitment, job market info, carnivals etc. for women residing in the district. Pray that all participants will be imbued with renewed energy and perspective.

Our New Arrival Mongkok Service Centre is organizing a wonderful activity sponsored by a foreign bank for 30 service recipients today. Pray that all participants, including the volunteers from the bank will enjoy themselves and give without expecting anything in return.   6

The bell for the new school term has rung. 
Pray the students in our Youth Employment and Training Programme be inspired to pursue Godly values and be better equipped through our programme.

Over the next two days our Training Services Division and Integrated Employment Assistance Programme will conduct workshops on job-seeking skills for the service users. Pray that they will be enriched through our vocational training services to re-enter the job market soon.     8

We are launching Green Collection programme in partnership with an international courier organization this month.  Pray for good-quality used and new items that we can resell through our outlet stores which partially finance our charity work in Hong Kong.

Praise God for His protection and provision!
Ji a 15 year old girl from Hainan Children’s Home experienced a miraculous recovery last month after undergoing complicated surgery at Matilda International Hospital. Her surgeon said that she had recovered much faster than expected.

Today our Training Services Division will co-organize a job recruitment day in partnership with other social welfare agencies. Pray that the activity will help to foster community cooperation and publicize our Employees Retraining Board’s training programmes across the city, and in turn benefit more job seekers.

Our New Arrival Mongkok Service Centre has secured public funding to implement a holistic educational support programme in 13 schools in Kowloon and the New Territories.  Pray that we can help uphold the development of our next generation to live fuller lives with Godly values.

Our Training Services Division will run a family day camp tomorrow to foster community harmony. Pray that we will also provide more diversified vocational services to job seekers in our vicinity.

The first half of My Step programme launched by Sau Mau Ping Integrated Employment Assistance Service Centre has been executed. Pray that the beneficiaries will be uplifted through the programme’s counseling and training on self-confidence and self-discipline. May they learn personally how to rely on Our Lord for direction and guidance; and recognise that “God’s word is a lamp for their feet, a light on their path”. Amen!    14

We will hold a charity bazaar at a local hospital this month.  Pray that more organizations will be recruited to support our green collection initiative which partially finances our charity work in Hong Kong.

Please continue to pray for Christian Action’s workplace tours in Kwun Tong as we were chosen by the Employees Retraining Board as the sole training provider for this service. Pray that these activities will offer job seekers more valuable info about the workplace.     16

Please pray that the ethnic minority students will muster up their courage and perseverance in learning Chinese as the new academic year begins.  For the brightest students, poor results in Chinese could reduce their chances of entering local universities.

This evening there will be a fundraising dinner for our Centre for Refugees who serve the most displaced and marginalized in Hong Kong. Pray that the event will successfully finance our humanitarian work in Hong Kong.   18

Tomorrow is World Peace Day!
May the pillars of Christianity: Hope, Faith and Love heal those who have been persecuted and been the victims of social injustice, such as the service users in our Centre of Refugees.  Pray that they will take refuge in His provision and comfort.

Mrs. Cheung-Ang Siew Mei, our Executive Director, will take a vision sharing trip with some of her long-standing Malaysian friends (attending the same Sunday School since her conversion) and other supporters (including pastor from her church) to Qinghai this week.  Pray that all these connections bear fruit, to become a support system for our ministry to underprivileged children in Qinghai, one of the poorest provinces in China.   20

Today we co-host a community outreach event for the migrant workers in the city, in partnership with St. John’s Cathedral and another NGO.  Please pray that our ministry will continue to serve the unserved year after year.  Amen!

Mrs. Cheung, our Executive Director, will deliver an address at a forum at Huangnan Children’s Home, which marks the progress and promotion of children’s welfare on the Tibetan Plateau through cooperation between Qinghai and Hong Kong over the decades. Pray that the event will progress smoothly, and that His name is glorified.   22

A Green Collection activity is being held at a local tertiary education institution until mid-October.  Pray that we will collect high quality items used for the campus’s orientation campaign that we can sell through our outlet stores.

Publicity campaigns for our anniversary celebration are in full swing through various mediums such as Facebook, Roadshows, newspapers etc. May God connect more supporters with us and move more friends to embrace our charity work both in Hong Kong and Qinghai.   24

Our Ministry Coordination Team is undertaking a series of mentor and mentee recruitment campaigns for its new school-based mentorship programme under the Children Development Fund.  Pray that these campaigns will make life-impacting steps on the next generation, develop their spiritual insight and widen their horizons.    26

Please pray that the disenfranchised and disadvantaged such as foreign domestic helpers working far away from home, or refugees stranded in Hong Kong feel cared for, and not alone. Pray that they understand that God is love.

May God shower His abundant blessings on our China team who strive to work in a difficult physical environment to serve underprivileged children in Qinghai. That they will remember Proverbs 11:25 “The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed; those who help others are helped.”

May His spirit be with us always to overcome every obstacle noticed or unnoticed and “to connect all things that work for the good of those who love Him and who have been called according to his purpose.”  Romans 8:28     30
