Yesterday some youths from our Training Services Division and Ministry Coordination Team joined a community activity hosted by Kwun Tong District Board.  Pray that Christian Action will be identified as an integral part to the neighbourhood and motivate more youngsters to embrace the community with hope and zeal; together we build a better future.

A group of visitors have just returned home from a vision sharing tour to see different children’s homes in Qinghai.  We pray that our friends do realize the plight of the children and they will invest themselves abundantly to our ministry in their future.

A little girl Qun aged 3 from Xining Children’s Home with rare congenital severely deformed wrists and ankles arrived in Hong Kong yesterday for an operation and to renew her rehabilitation splints.  Pray for her steady and smooth recovery after the surgery.

Give thanks to an international courier offering a pro bono delivery service to our green collection programme this week.  Pray that this will facilitate more people to support our initiative through donating good-quality used merchandise for resale in our outlets and to finance part of our humanitarian work in Hong Kong.   6

Our phase-5 mentorship programme of Child Development Fund has kicked off this month.  Pray that the relationship of the mentor-mentee-and-parents will be fostered through this 3-year inititative and for a spiritual impact on our next generation.

Praise God.  We hosted the 30th Anniversary photo exhibition “Say 30: Serving the Unserved” at HK Polytechnic University from 5th to 12th September which seized much attention as new academic year started.  Amen!

Our New Arrival Mongkok Service Centre is going to launch a comprehensive educational support programme extending from this October to July 2016; and servicing 1000 students in 13 schools.  Pray that the programme will genuinely meet the needs of grassroots working parents who have to work long hours daily and hardly afford to spend time with their children.

Tomorrow our Training Services Division will host a carnival in Wong Tai Sin sponsored by the Estate Management Advisory Committee.  Pray for the function will foster community integration; promote our Employees Retraining Board’s training programmes and empower more job seekers in the district.   10

Clients from our New Arrival Mongkok Service Centre are invited to attend a carnival held at our Headquarters sponsored by a private enterprise which had provided free logistic support for our green collection drive over the past week.  Pray that more and more private enterprises will embrace our ministries directly or indirectly in future.

Qinghai officials (including provincial, city government & the Civil Affairs Department) will visit our Headquarters and other local social welfare organizations in different areas such as rehabilitation, children, youth and elderly services this week.  Please pray for closer collaborative relationships with them to help the disadvantaged orphans in one of the impoverished regions in China.   12

We will co-organize a poverty experiential trip for some students from an international school today.  Pray that the participants will personally experience the plight of the deprived and low-income working sector and they will be moved to embrace our mission in action.

Please pray for an 8 year-old H.K. born client, Yiu from our New Arrival Sheung Shui centre who has to commute across the border and back for school every day when his mainlander mom, also a single parent, cannot afford high H.K.rental. May God empower this family to go from strength to strength with His hope and Spirit.   14

Some of the youth clients from our Integrated Employment Assistance Service San Fung Avenue Centre will experience the Dialogue in the Dark today.  Pray that this will help to shift their focus from the circumstance to God; and they solely rely on His direction and guidance.  “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”    2 Corinthians 4:18

Christian Action will host a press conference today to mark 18 years of co-management of various children’s homes and renewing the mutual agreement with the Qinghai government.  May God continue to pour His blessings to our ministry walking with the weak and needy children on the Tibetan Plateau and strengthen CA’s collaboration with provincial authority year after year.    16

Two students from a local tertiary educational institute will be interns at our Social Enterprise Division from October to March.  Pray that they will deeply understand the blessing of giving.

Our school-based mentorship programme under Child Development Fund will start its mentor-mentee matching.  May God shower the team with His vision in connecting the perfect pair so that more Godly value will be passed forward to our next generation.   18

Mrs. Cheung-Ang Siew Mei, our Executive Director, will deliver a speech at her alma mater in Malaysia as an alumna who has been following Jesus’ example to serve the needy and marginalized.  Pray that her sharing will inspire more to serve His purpose through our ministry.

This week our 30th Anniversary photo exhibition will move to the H.K. University.  Pray that we will open new path to appeal to the young generation and share how God has been walking with us through these decades.   20

Notwithstanding our tight financial budget, Domestic Migrant Workers programme team strives to work for our clients in negotiating with the government departments for minimal allowable wages and other welfare they deserve.  We need His continuous guidance and inspiration.  Please pray.

Today is Chung Yeung Festival where hiking and tomb-sweeping are regarded as two main traditions.  Pray that our staff will get recharged and refreshed as they go for a nature walk endowed with God’s creation, and get relaxation outdoors.   22

Give Thanks : Christian Action Asia (USA) has received a generous matching challenge of HK$1.5 million.  Pray that they will garner abundant support for our ministry to help the disadvantaged and disabled children on Tibetan Plateau.

Our Sau Mau Ping Integrated Employment Assistance Service Centre is organizing a self-exploration workshop for woman service users from the neighbourhood. The theme : “New Women.New Hope”. May the beneficiaries be empowered to actualize their strengths and dreams; and to live a fuller life.   24

This afternoon Training Services Division will host an activity sharing job information, training and retraining programmes under Employees Retraining Board in Sheung Shui.  Pray that the residents will seize the opportunity to optimize the local resources to enrich themselves and realize their dreams.

The Ethnic Minorities youths face great challenges at school and in the community.  Pray that our Ethnic Minorities team will offer educational, community and developmental support that will sustain them to grow better and stronger; and in future they will reciprocate society as a whole.    28

The influx of Syrian refugees into European countries is now a global issue.  Please pray for our Centre for Refugees team to seek Godly strength and wisdom in midst of extreme hardship and neglect in the community.

Our Training Services Division is running  training sessions for the beneficiaries of Integrated Employment Assistance Service programme.  Pray that they are a light to the district helping the disadvantaged to re-enter the job market.
