After serving for more than 5 years as Convener of CPPCC Qinghai members in Hong Kong, Mrs. Cheung-Ang Siew Mei, our Executive Director, was recently appointed to a newly-established Qinghai Children Welfare Association as Honorary President.  Christian Action is also admitted as one of the Association’s founders.  Pray for her as she strives to serve as light in the community for the deprived and frail children in Qinghai.

Pray for smooth execution of our IT Department’s plans for the technical aspects of the silent auction at our 30th Anniversary charity dinner on 11th and at the Season of Love 2015.

Our Season of Love 2015 runs from now till next February.  Pray for a fruitful harvest for the needy children both in H.K. and Qinghai and that the campaign will reach wide public attention.

Five physically/mentally handicapped young adults from Xining arriving in H.K. today for a week visiting sheltered workshops.  Pray this will help them to live God-impacting lives that will prosper them.     6

Mrs. Cheung, our Executive Director, was elected as Executive Committee Member of HK Christian Council for another two-year term. She is also re-elected to chair the Justice and Social Concern Committee of the Council. Pray that God will continue to make her a channel of His peace and to serve the unserved through this local ecumenical Church body.

Foreign domestic helpers working in H.K. from their distant homeland serve many local families as an essential caregiver to the young and the elders.  May Our Lord touch them and protect them from injustice, exploitation and abusive. They feel that God is love.

During Thanksgiving or Christmas, Christian Action Asia (USA) will rejoice and remember to bring love and warmth to the deprived & impoverished of the Tibetan Plateau.  Please pray that the year-end gift collection campaign will reap abundant fruit for the children and youth of Qinghai.

Praise God! Qun aged 3 from Xining Children’s Home with rare congenital severely deformed wrists and ankles underwent a successful biceps reconstruction operation in H.K. last month.  Pray for her continuous post-surgery rehabilitation progress after returning to Xining.

Give thanks for our Social Enterprise Division’s success in coordinating with a private housing estate. They will launch our green collection drive today and Sunday. Pray that the residents will donate their unwanted goods understand that they are meeting the needs of the poor.

Training Services Division is preparing to host a whole-day event on the 19th under the Employees Retraining Board in Kwai Chung.  Pray more will think about work-family balance and re-enter the job-market.   16

Today and Tuesday, Integrated Employment Assistance Service San Fung Avenue Centre & Training Services Division will hold Job Seeking Workshops.  Pray that the welfare beneficiaries will gradually raise their self-confidence and courage; and then better equip themselves to re-enter the job market.

Our Ministry Coordination Team in Yuen Long strives to net-work with churches there to serve the elderly residents better.  Pray more people will join us to embrace lonely elders with love.   18

Today our Social Enterprise Division holds a charity drive at Kwai Chung Hospital. Pray for general donations and for awareness of our name to spread across the territory.  Every support counts!   20

Our Sai Kung and Tseung Kwan O Faith Based Mentorship Programme (under Child Development Fund) has started its mentor-mentee matching.  May this connection grow beyond this 3-year programme. May the youth be stimulated to pursue a life of God-driven purpose.

Fifty youth under our Ministry Coordination Team were coached to explore their artistic talents and creativity in Artisanal Workshop sponsored by a local private enterprise. Yesterday afternoon was a time for their performance held at Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Cost of accommodation is the largest household expense for those who use our Sheung Shui New Arrival Service Centre. Pray that the government will review and improve HK’s housing policy.

Please pray for the success of a funding proposal by the New Arrivals Mong Kok Service Centre.  It aims to offer a weekday after-school service at our headquarters for Grades 1 - 4 children. Pray this helps alleviate the burdens of the families working long hours to earn a subsistence living.
