Our Ethnic Minority team successfully connected with a primary school in Tuen Mun to offer a self-financed initiative for the ethnic minority students there.  Pray that more beneficiaries will be blessed to become better and stronger and get included into the community more readily.

A green collection programme will be launched in a private housing estate in Sai Kung.  Pray that more used or unused good quality items such as clothes, books, toys, electrical appliances and others will be obtained for resale at our outlet stores to partially finance our charity work in Hong Kong.

It is a time to celebrate.  Today two private enterprises loaded with festival blessings will bring warmth to the underprivileged clients at the Mong Kok New Arrival Service Centre.  They will give red packets and festive food to grass-roots children mainly those from single-parent families.

The weekend Ministry Coordination Team will co-host a Chinese New Year celebration party with a secondary school in Kowloon for 30 children from low-income households.  Pray that this helps foster a community network to better serve the needy and vulnerable as we follow Jesus’ example.

Chinese New Year is just around the corner!
Today is a big spring-cleaning day in Chinese tradition and extra helping hands may be required to do the job. Pray that the trainees of our domestic helpers training course will fill up the needs and ease the abundant workload.

The Social Enterprise Division is collaborating with a property management company to launch a charity drive during the Chinese New Year.  Pray for generous donations and our name to be spread across the territory.  Every bit of support counts!   8

Pray that Christian Action will have a blessed Year of the Monkey!  Please pray that the staff members will take a break from the tense workload, enjoy precious family time and be empowered to serve the unserved in Hong Kong and Qinghai.

Many new arrival families returned home in China to spend the new year with their loved ones. Pray for a safe return to Hong Kong.   10

Please pray for God’s provision and wisdom as our Centre for Refugees is running on a shoestring budget.

Please pray for God’s presence and protection for the Domestic Helpers and Migrant Workers who work far away from home and take temporary refuge at our shelter during difficult times in their lives.  May God comfort them personally as they face great challenges especially during the Chinese New Year festival celebrating family reunions.

Our “Growing Together” bridging programme for New Arrivals with families living in China but children attending schools in Hong Kong has received applause from partnering kindergartens in Sheung Shui. The team thrives to offer tailor-made training to help better understand the needs of these families. Pray that we will also give them spiritual support.

15 caretakers in Xining Children’s Home completed a series of training courses on how to better communicate with vulnerable disabled children conducted by two foreign professionals from Denmark and the Netherlands.  Pray that they will benefit and be moved to embrace our ministry in Qinghai with love and care.  May His name be glorified.

Our training programme proposals for 2016/17 are pending  approval from the Employees Retraining Board. Pray that all of them will soon be approved and we strive to offer more need-oriented training and make a difference to the job seekers who attend.

Christian Action Asia (USA) is planning to establish an Adoptive Family Network made up of families in the States who have adopted children from Xining.  Pray that the network will be well connected, informed and unified to embrace the ministry of Christian Action on the Tibetan Plateau.   16

The student mentees of our 4th Child Development Fund project of Kwun Tong District will start realizing their dreams by utilizing their savings as planned at the very beginning.  Pray that the beneficiaries will widen their horizons, fulfill their dreams and make a difference through this 3-year mentorship programme.

The Training Services Division will organize a seminar on Property Management in Kowloon East today.  Pray that it will better equip those seeking to improve their career prospects in this industry and promote our Employees Retraining Board’s training programmes and empower more job seekers in the district.   18

Our Ethnic Minorities services team is seeking a chance to collaborate with schools in Jordan to better serve our targeted group offering a holistic youth developmental plan and support to parents. Pray that they will strive to aid the beneficiaries so they have a smooth integration into the community.

About 20 youngsters under our Ministry Coordination Team will share their precious experience in joining a public-funded initiative: how to start a handicraft business from scrap and finish it by selling their products in bazaars.  Pray that this unlocks their potential and they treasure their talents as special gifts from our Lord.    20

Different community organizations will join us to love our deprived service users of Mong Kok New Arrivals Service Centre by organizing a Basin Feast (Pun Choi) for 400 people and a dinner-cum-activity for 50 today and on the 26th respectively.  Pray that more people will join hands with us to act as beacons of hope to the community.

Our San Fung Avenue Integrated Employment Assistance Service Centre will kick off its 2nd-phase My Step at a Sai Kung camp site this month.  Pray that it will raise their confidence to move forward to actualize their dreams.   22

We will host a Charity Bubble Soccer Tournament at the Clear Water Bay Golf & Country Club on 19 March. Pray that this novel event will appeal to more corporations and the public, thus raising funds for our Centre for Refugees and Centre for Domestic Migrant Workers.

Today 25 youngsters of My Step programme under the Sau Mau Ping Integrated Employment Assistance Service Centre will participate in a rock climbing activity at our headquarters.  Pray that they will have courage and confidence; and find God as the only One they can count on at all times.    26
