Today is the HKSAR’s 19th Establishment Day anniversary!  Pray that Godly joy, peace and love will be showered on Hong Kong.  And that we will embrace each other in unity and with respect despite the increasingly sensitive political environment.   2

Mrs. Cheung-Ang Siew Mei, our Executive Director, returned from her recent vision sharing trip to Qinghai with a group of supporters from a church in North America.  Pray that a substantial support system will be established for our ministry of giving care and hope to the abandoned children on the Tibetan Plateau.

Christian Action’s flag day was held in June.  More than 80% of registered volunteers turned up and joined us to raise funds for a meaningful cause.

Glory to Our Lord!
A medical delegation of 15 medical professionals from the HK Cornerstone Association visited the Qinghai Charity Hospital in June and conducted twenty-one cleft palate surgeries for the deprived children.  Pray that more professionals will embrace our ministry in Qinghai.

Ramadan ends today.  
Pray that the clients of our HK humanitarian services will be refreshed and recharged spiritually (about 80% of them are Muslims) and be empowered to overcome any challenges ahead with hope and love.

Mrs. Cheung Ang Siew Mei, our Executive Director, will attend a Qinghai Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference tomorrow.  Pray for God’s vision, guidance and protection as she builds a relationship between Christian Action and the Qinghai government.

Today two bands (consisting of 4-5 youth mentees in each of them) from our Ministry Coordination Team will perform in a concert organized by a church in Kowloon East.  Pray that this will help the youngsters to unlock their potential and they will treasure their talents as special gifts from our Lord.

Marvelous News!
Two different delegations of medical professionals including dentists, pediatrists, nurses and others will visit the Xining Children’s Home over these two weeks.  Pray that more capable and caring people will learn personally the plight of the deprived children on the Tibetan Plateau; and be moved to uphold the same mission and vision as ours.

Our Ministry Coordination Team (Sau Mau Ping Centre) was invited by the Social Welfare Department to attend the commendation ceremony today for collaboratively contributing over 10,000 hours of volunteer service to the community in 2015.  Pray that more people will be inspired to give without expecting anything in return.

Our Social Enterprise Division has been launching the “Share to Love Charity Book Drive” at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre over this weekend. Pray that our goodwill will spread further throughout the city and more people will support our green collection programme.

On 2nd and 9th this month, about 30 youth mentees under our Child Development Fund programme learnt how to massage the elderly.  Pray that the youth will embrace the love language of touch and deliver care and love to the elderly in the community.   12

Please pray for our Integrated Employment Assistance Service San Fung Avenue Centre as they are undergoing organizational restructuring.  Also pray that the 3 who have newly joined the service centre will synergize each other and collaborate as a harmonious team to better serve our clients.

Today is the 2016 HK Diploma of Secondary Examination (DSE) results release day.  May God bless all the students with His peace, strength and wisdom to choose the right path pleasing to our Lord.  Amen!   14

During the DSE result release day, our Youth Development Service team and ethnic minority team reached out to different secondary schools in Kowloon and the New Territories.  Pray that those who did not do well in this public examination will find hope and vision to forge their future career path with the service we have rendered.

Summer vacation has begun!
Our Ministry Coordination Team is fully geared up to implement the summer programmes including camping, life planning training and other fun activities. Please pray for us as this is an important platform to share Godly love with the mentees, mentors and their parents alike.  Amen!

During the summer vacation, some of our New Arrivals Service Centre’s children will return to their homeland so they will not be left alone in HK.  Please pray for their safe trips and that our Centre can find ways to assist them.

Volunteers from our Sau Mau Ping Integrated Employment Assistance Service Centre will be assigned to work in different places such as schools, computer workshops, godowns, farms, playgrounds or even outdoors under the scorching sun. May God empower them and raise them up to go from strength to strength.    18

A church in Kowloon City starts collaborating with our New Arrival Mongkok Centre to run after-school care service for 70 of our children from Monday to Friday throughout this summer.  Pray that they will treasure the precious time and feel the community love and care.

Since its inception in 2012, CATS-Alumni and Fans Club has attracted more than 7,000 members who have completed courses provided by our Training Services Division. To serve a wide spectrum of clientele, the Club aims at recruiting members from the public in future. Pray that it strives to offer an effective platform for a support system, information exchange, having fun, providing community service, having bargaining power, etc.   20

The relocation of our Shine Centre offering support services for ethnic minorities in Tuen Mun has been accomplished.  Half of it remains in its existing site while the other half has moved upstairs in the same building.

There is structural reorganization in the Information Technology Department at our Qinghai office this month. Pray that all communication and the transition between the two offices will be smooth and successful.    22

Pray that Christian Action Asia (USA) will garner more financial support through the initiative Amazon.Smile.  On purchasing items through Amazon.Smile, once the customer has selected Christian Action as the favourite charity organization from a list of selected charities, Amazon will donate 5% to CAA for every purchase. 
We need every cent of support.

Our Social Enterprise Division will conduct the green collection drive at different private housing estates all over the city this weekend and the next.  Pray that more organizations will connect with us through the green collection programme to raise funds for our ministries in HK.   24

Please pray for the refugees and asylum seekers, the most marginalized sectors in the city.  May God bless them with safe shelter and enough food to survive the hot and rainy days especially under the onslaught of negative news hostile to them.

My Step - a self-improvement course for youngsters run by the Sau Mau Ping Integrated Employment Assistance Service Centre kicked off this month.   About 20 youth joined the initiative.  Pray that it helps raise their self-confidence so they can dare to dream with strength and courage.   26

The “Season of Love Charity Drive” 2016 will be launched in winter. Please pray for good cooperation and communication with different designers and suppliers in this preparation stage.  And that we collaboratively create a new charity initiative that appeals to our potential sponsors and donors!

CA will be the beneficiary of the “Teresa Teng Musical Charity Night” on 9 September.  Pray that the event will bring in numerous generous sponsors and donors to finance our Qinghai programme as all proceeds will be channeled to support the deprived and disabled orphans there.

Give thanks to the Home Affairs Department for financially supporting our Ambassador Programme for Ethnic Minority Youths for another year which will start today.  Pray that these youngsters will be greatly empowered through the initiative.  Amen!

Please pray for successful public funding for our New Arrivals Services Centre in providing afterschool and learning support to our grass-roots clients this September.  Hopefully we can help share their burden and fill up the gap for the parents who have to work long hours to subsist at the expense of family time.

Six undergrads from different local universities will join our internship programme of the Social Enterprise Division during the summer vacation.  Pray that our youth will deeply understand the blessing of giving and being involved in recycling to stop unwarranted wastage.
