Thanks to donors, organizers and supporters for contributing to the success of the charity fundraiser Teresa - The Musical held last month. We have raised over HK$730,000 for the Qinghai programme. To God be the glory!

Our ethnic minorities team will submit an application for extension of a two-year funding to serve the ethnic minorities community this week.  May His blessings shower the team with wisdom and strength to strive to bring social inclusion across different races in Hong Kong.  Amen!    4

Our Christian Action "Operation: Now!" charity dinner was held last month with an enthusiastic response.  Pray that more generous supporters will be moved to join hands with us to bring love and hope to the disabled and deprived children in Qinghai!

Give thanks for a donor’s generous gift of a fully-equipped medical bus, which Christian Action officially handed over to the Qinghai Welfare Charity Hospital last month.  Pray that our cooperation with the local authority will grow from strength to strength so God’s healing hands can extend to the remote and unreachable parts of the Tibetan Plateau.

Today ends our green collection programme in a world class prestigious hotel.  Pray that the campaign will receive lots of quality donations for resale in our outlets; and finance our humanitarian work.

Our Ministry Coordination Team in collaboration with its partnering churches in Kowloon East will embark on an initiative integrating “environmental conservation” and barter system. Pray that the idea of “Treasure Our Earth’s Resources” will be instilled in the public and together we build a better and greener future!

This month, the Training Services Division will start an initiative known as “Move! Women in Action” sponsored by the Kwun Tong District Council to empower the destitute and needy women here.  Pray that this will equip and inspire them to break the poverty cycle and live a more beautiful life through our programme.

Today is Chung Yeung Festival.  
According to Chinese tradition, people go hiking in open spaces to avoid bad luck. Pray that our staff enjoy their nature walk filled with God’s creations; and get replenished and feel relaxed to serve the community with a recharged mind and spirit.

Marvelous!
Last month Mrs. Cheung-Ang Siew Mei, our Executive Director, shared her mission-driven life testimonial at the Philanthropic Forum on Community Service Innovation in the Western Region held in Qinghai.  She was the only speaker who received two applauses in spite of her limited Putonghua. Pray that our ministry on the Tibetan Plateau which has gained recognition and support from the government authority to spread faith and love to the needy and helpless children there.

Some of the domestic helpers tend to suffer from malnutrition as they may be supplied with unhealthy food (such as cup noodles 3 times a day) or religiously inappropriate food on their work days.  Pray that the employers will respect the needs of their domestic helpers who share most of the families’ burden in housekeeping and by doing chores.   12

Tomorrow our Training Services Division will organize a job recruitment day at our Headquarters. Pray that we will strive to serve the neighbourhood through its wide range of need-oriented training programmes for job seekers.

Give thanks to a generous donor!  55 single-parent families on double-entry permits from our Mong Kok New Arrivals Service Centre will benefit from a regular monthly fresh food distribution for a year.  Pray that the recipients will experience God’s love and provision whenever they are in need.    14

Our Integrated Employment Assistance Service Sheung Shui Centre will organize interest classes such as cooking; and mutual support groups for the newly arrived women and children in the vicinity.  Pray that they will feel cherished and loved; and quickly integrate into the community.

Our Training Services Division has received funding to host two events in Shun Lee Estate and Kai Ching Estate this month promoting our services to job seekers, with the aim of equipping them to enter the workforce.

Global climate is changing, so are food and agriculture.  Pray that more kind-hearted people will join our campaign to fight against hunger and promote nutrition among the refugees in Hong Kong. We need every bit of your support!

A team of volunteers consisting of 15 students and 2 teachers from a local international school has started a week-long visit at our Xining Children’s Home on the 15th.  Pray that they personally experience the plight of the disabled and disadvantaged children; and will be moved to embrace our mission and strive to be our enthusiastic partners in the ministry in Qinghai.    18

Our Training Services Division has organized different promotional activities for the residents of Kowloon East.  Pray that they offer guidance for the unemployed/underemployed in the district to secure their desirable jobs, meet their needs and bless their families.

Collaborating with different organizations, our Mong Kok New Arrivals Service Centre connects 150 of our woman clients, in Project Teal, who will undertake a HPV test scan sponsored by a pharmaceutical company.  Pray that more supporters will join us to express the divine love and care of God, especially to the needy and poor!      20

Our Integrated Employment Assistance Service Sau Mau Ping Centre will run some regular make-up workshops on Thursdays.  Pray that all participants will gain self confidence and self-esteem and learn how precious and pretty they are in God’s eyes.

Our Social Enterprise Division has launched green collection initiative in several areas this month.  Pray that more high-quality goods like household items, clothes and other useful things will be collected so that we can sell them through our outlets and partially finance our charity services.   22

A university undergraduate joined our Ministry Coordination Team as an intern in Sau Mau Ping Centre from now till March 2017.  Pray that this internship will bring about a win-win scenario and benefit society as a whole.

Pray that Christian Action UK will be uplifted by our prayers as we stand in unity. Pray that more supporters across the country will be motivated to support our ministry in Qinghai.   24

As many ethnic minority children find great difficulty in their studies in  mainstream schools, our ethnic minorities integrated service team will recruit capable and committed volunteers to bridge those gaps by providing them Chinese-language support at kindergartens or junior primary level.  Please pray for it.

Today sees the first meeting this year for Christian Action’s Youth Employment & Training Programme trainees.  A young chef has been invited to be a keynote speaker to share his work experience in catering.  Pray that we serve as a light to the unemployed youngsters forging their career plan with vigor and hope.   26

Today our two teams of Integrated Employment Assistance Service will jointly conduct an archery war game in Kwun Tong for their service users.  Please pray that this will inspire the unemployed youths to muster up the courage and learn team spirit when pursuing their purpose-driven lives.   28

The preparation of our annual Season of Love charity sales is in full swing!  Pray for positive responses to sponsors, sales booths and outlets, as well as online sales so that we can reap abundant fruit to serve the vulnerable children in Qinghai and Hong Kong.

Today some students from a local university will visit the Tuen Mun Outlet to learn more about our green collection drive.  Pray that this will make a life-changing impact on our next generation to develop their spiritual insight through environmental conservation and giving.   30

Our Youth Development Service Team is drafting its new development plan for the year 2016/17.  Pray for Godly inspiration and guidance in reaching out to the teenagers who need to regain their self-confidence and courage, find their direction in life and dare to dream again.

Our Ministry Coordination Team will start its 3rd phase school-based mentorship programme under the Child Development Fund in early November.  Pray that the project will enable the disadvantaged students in Hong Kong to widen their life horizons and embrace Godly values in their lives.  Amen!
