Operation: Now! - Christian Action’s Qinghai Vision Sharing Dinner held in September was well attended by more than 100 guests and successfully raised almost HK$700,000 for the disabled and impoverished children on the Tibetan Plateau.

Our Season of Love Charity Drive 2016 will kick off this month.  May God pour His blessings on the campaign so the harvest is rich and sustains our ministry for underprivileged and disadvantaged children in Hong Kong and Qinghai.

Our Integrated Employment Assistance Service Sheung Shui Centre will strive to foster the Employment Network in the district through constant contact with employers, job matching, providing labour market information and running employment workshops and job fairs for the centre users. Pray that the clients will quickly re-enter the workforce with courage and confidence.

The closing ceremonies of our 4th phase Child Development Fund Mentorship Programmes of Kwun Tong and Yuen Long will take place today and on 26th.  Pray that such a mentor-and-mentee relationship will flourish into a long-lasting one and collaboratively impact lives with His Word.    6

Our Information Technology Department will send a staff member to the Qinghai office to provide training, and upgrade the computer system.  Pray that better work efficiency and connection between the two places will be promoted.

Our Youth Development Service team has secured new funding to better equip youngsters in the Youth Employment and Training Programme for job interviews and future career planning.  Pray that the project will enable them to walk in ways that are pleasing to God and to fulfill their dreams.

Thanks should be given to a partner enterprise supporting our green collection programme and for giving us a week-long free Green Delivery!  Pray that we will collect lots of excellent used items from its two prime offices for resale at our charity sales outlets.

New staff members have joined our Integrated Employment Assistance Service at both the Sau Mau Ming and Sheung Shui Centres.  Pray that the teams will grow from strength to strength to empower the unemployed clients to re-enter the job market with ease and joy.

Please continue to pray for our campaign that started in October, to fight against hunger and promote nutrition among the refugees in Hong Kong.  May more people be motivated to support suffering refugees to the end of 2016.

In collaboration with the Labour Department, the Employees Retraining Board and an NGO, our Training Services Division will run  two recruitment days today and next Friday that characterize a pilot project emphasizing “Employment with on-the-job Training”.  Pray that our market-oriented programme will equip the job-seekers with better skills to pursue their dreams and sustainable employment.   12

May God generously pour His blessings as we seek a new home very soon!  Pray that we will be further unified in His presence and provision striving to serve the marginalized and abandoned sectors in our community year after year.  Amen!

During November/December, Christian Action Asia will embark on a new round of Holiday Mailing Campaign in the States.  Pray that more like-minded and compassionate supporters will respond positively to His call in Christian Action’s China programme.   14

A four-day conference hosted by the World Council of Churches will kick off today in HK.  Mrs. Cheung-Ang Siew Mei, our Executive Director, will welcome the participants from different countries in her capacity as an executive committee member of the Hong Kong Christian Council.  Pray that she strives to follow Jesus’ example as salt and light and to spread peace and love in HK.

Our Training Services Division will organize a promotion cum Indian Cuisine trial class at our headquarters specially designed for the ethnic minority clients on our Integrated Employment Assistance Service Programme.  Pray that our community will be brightened up with colors and vigor.

This afternoon our CATS-Alumni and Fans Club will hold a hairdressing workshop at the Tsuen Wan Training Centre. Pray that it helps publicize our trendy training programmes and offer an effective support system to the trainees and the alumni as a whole.

The Social Enterprise Division conducted a “Green Collection Programme cum Charity Barter Drive” at a private housing estate nearby last Saturday.  Pray that public awareness will be consistently aroused to support our ministry; and embrace a greener Hong Kong.   18

Cold winter is around the corner.  
Volunteers of our Integrated Employment Assistance Service Sau Mau Ping Centre are busy knitting things for upcoming visits to the nursing homes for the elderly within the district.  Pray that we are able to bless the less fortunate in our community.

Mrs. Cheung, our Executive Director, will meet new and old friends as well as different churches of Christian Action in the UK next month.  Pray that her sharing will touch people’s hearts and draw them into partnership with us.   20

Eric (an 18-year-old teen) suffering from cerebral palsy from the Xining Social Welfare Institute, came to HK in late September for post-surgical rehabilitation treatment.  Pray that he will grow stronger and take his first stride with strength and faith soon.

Please pray that our Ministry Coordination Team will strengthen its partnership with different Tin Shui Wai churches; and more Christians will respond to His call to serve the mentorship programmes.  May the collaboration be blessed to promote the community network.   22

Some of our New Arrival Mongkok Service Centre’s clients will help in our Season of Love Charity Drive at different shopping malls in the coming weekend.  Pray that the campaign will reap abundant fruit to sustain our charity work in Hong Kong and Qinghai.

Today our Training Services Division will organize a seminar for the students sitting for the HK Diploma of Secondary Education Examination 2017.  Pray that we will better prepare the students to acquire some practical job-market oriented skills during their gap period from May to August after the public examination.  May God bless them with His wisdom and inspiration when they forge ahead with their personal development plans.   24

When we share precious family time with gratitude, let’s join together to pray for refugees in HK and beyond who are compelled to separate from their families and beloved ones due to wars and antagonism.  Pray for His peace and His love!

Tomorrow 15 children from our New Arrival Mong Kok Service Centre will join a baking class at our headquarters sponsored by the HK Tourism Board.  Pray that all of them will feel love and care from the community.   26

Today 60 of our New Arrival Mong Kok Service Centre’s clients (including parents and kids) will join our Social Enterprise Division’s Green Farm Programme sponsored by a private enterprise at an urban farm near our headquarters.  May our Green Collection Drive reach out further and wider across the city.

Six disabled youngsters (all over age 18) of our Bridge Programme in Qinghai were appointed as ambassadors and chosen to attend the public speaking training lessons last month.  Pray that they will gain self-confidence and skills to speak in public as we try to better equip them to live their lives to the fullest.   28

The Training Services Division has organized different career information days for the residents in Kowloon East and Sheung Shui this month.  Pray that the unemployed and underemployed will find these local resources useful for self-improvement to re-enter the workforce with ease.

As the tension between India and Pakistan has recently escalated, our Ethnic Minorities Integrated Services team is faced with challenges in providing services for the ethnic groups.  Pray that they are reminded to embrace His justice, peace and love; and always respect each other.   30
