Tomorrow is Christian Action’s annual Christmas party.  Pray that all of us will meditate with the notion “live carefree before God; He is most careful with us.” 1 Peter 5:7  Let’s relax away from our daily pressures and remember that Jesus is the one we truly serve.

A former HK colleague in UK will help in recruitment; fostering church network and support to CAUK. Please join us to pray that British born Chinese and other British Chinese residents will be called to embrace our mission in action in China.

Some of our clients from the New Arrival Mong Kok Service Centre will volunteer to serve in the public booth sales of our Season of Love Charity Drive 2016 today and next weekend.  Pray that more people will be touched to support our ministry helping the deprived and impoverished children in HK and Qinghai.   4

A new social worker will join our China programme this week and be stationed in Qinghai.  Pray that he will adapt to the new working environment and harsh physical conditions soon and walk joyfully on His path to serve children in need.

Congratulations!
25 trainees were successfully recruited under the pilot project featuring “Employment with on-the-job Training” launched in November.   Pray that this flexible programme will equip the job-seekers with better skills to pursue their dreams and to enjoy sustainable employment.

In this month, 50 deprived families (receiving old age allowance or disability allowance) within the district will be granted a daily free meal (from 6p.m. to 7p.m. (Monday to Friday) supported by a charity food programme co-organized with a NGO.  Pray that our poor elderly neighbours will feel cherished and loved by the community.

Our mentorship programme under the Ministry Coordination Team will benefit from a charity bike ride organized by Yuen Long Church this weekend.  Pray for effective communication in the preparation process and a high level of public participation in this wonderful event.

Since October, our Training Services Division has been implementing a programme “Move! Women in Action” focusing on empowering the destitute and needy women in the district.  Different workshops on beauty and parenting will be organized and a graduation ceremony will be scheduled on the 17th.  Pray that the trainees will be better equipped to live a beautiful life; and be motivated to break the poverty cycle through the project.

Give thanks to our Social Enterprise Division for successfully coordinating with a popular private housing estate on HK Island for our green collection programme in these 2 days. Pray that the residents will donate their unwanted goods and understand that they are also meeting the needs of the poor.   10

The renovation and computer system installation of our newly established charity outlet (Yuen Long Outlet) at Tin Shui Wai MTR station is in full swing.  Pray that every minute step will be on God’s plan and the shop will open by mid-December as scheduled to cater to the festive shoppers.

Yesterday 40 kids from our New Arrival Mong Kok Centre visited some government organizations in the morning and then enjoyed a lunch buffet in a prestigious hotel in Repulse Bay.  Pray that all of them enjoyed a good day. It is really a rare chance for them to venture outside of their neighborhoods and enjoy these simple leisure activities which they normally would not be able to.    12

Being sponsored by the community organizations, our Training Services Division organized two carnivals in Kwun Tong and Wong Tai Sin respectively last week. Pray that the events will foster community integration, promote our Employees Retraining Board’s training programmes and empower the job seekers in the neighbourhood.

Our Season of Love Charity Drive 2016 started last month. May God bless our public sales booths selling charity egg rolls across the city to bring us abundant fruit to support our ministry for the underprivileged and disadvantaged children in Hong Kong and Qinghai.   14

Today our Executive Director will start preparation for the vision sharing trip to UK. Apart from sharing at St. Andrews Churchdown, she will speak at Chinese churches in Liverpool and Manchester.  Please pray that she will meet people who are passionate about orphans and the disadvantaged in Qinghai; ready to be our prayer partners and co-workers in the field and generous donors!

Our Integrated Employment Assistance Service Sheung Shui Centre will organize 3 psycho-social groups (about 10 clients in a group) of 30 New Arrivals clients.  3 social work intern students are working on this project which focuses on parenting and employment seeking.  The groups meet once a week from now to the end of December.

Our Social Enterprise Division participated in the 51st HK Brands & Products Expo in Victoria Park held during these few days. Pray that public awareness will be significantly aroused to support our ministry; and understand this is also a means to fulfill charity work.

With Rotary International Bayview’s sponsorship, our New Arrival Mong Kok Service Centre will organize a festive celebration for 70 kids prior to their return to the homeland. Pray that the beneficiaries will feel embraced by the community as we try to network and let them understand how deep His love is!   18

As our Training Services Division is strategizing its proposed 2017-18 plan, please pray for Godly wisdom and inspiration that the team will generate more innovative vocational training programmes suitable for the ever-changing job market.

Since 2014, we have been trying our best to find an appropriate relocation without disrupting our current services upon realizing Government’s intention to rezone New Horizons Building and the nearby premises, where CA’s headquarters is located. Please join us to pray for a new home for Christian Action that we desperately need or that we will be able to persuade the government to allow us to stay where we are.

Our Training Services Division has organized different career information days for the residents in Kowloon East this December.  Pray that the unemployed and underemployed will find these local resources useful for self-improvement to re-enter the workforce with confidence.   22

Pray that Christian Action Asia (USA) will be uplifted by our prayers as we stand in unity; and that more supporters across the States will be motivated to embrace our orphans in Qinghai in the name of Immanuel during their Christmas celebrations.  Amen!

Today Sau Mau Ping Integrated Employment Assistance Service Centre (IEAS) will host a Christmas party for some centre users. May the beneficiaries feel cherished in the community and understand God’s divine love through the constant effort of our staff in uplifting and encouraging them.   24

Our Humanitarian Services (HK) team co-organizes celebrations with different partnering agencies every Saturday in December for the service users; such as the domestic helpers, refugees and asylum seekers who are far away from their homes and families, facing hardship in their lives.  May joy, peace and love be theirs; and they personally experience God’s presence!  Amen.

We are preparing our annual fundraiser 3-Legged Charity Walk in March 2017.  May God connect all donors and friends to us through this outdoor activity and may all of them soon be an integral part of our committed support system.

Two camps will be conducted within the week for the mentees under the care of our Ministry Coordination Team.  May God’s Word be whispered and instilled into their hearts and they choose to walk on a path that is pleasing to God.  Amen!   28

The demonetization of the Indian Rupee 500 and 1,000 banknotes taken by the government of India in early November has created some chaos for the ethnic Indian clients with familial connections in their homeland.  Pray that they may obtain spiritual aid from the supportive system established by our ethnic minorities team to let go of their anxiety and burden.

The Social Enterprise Division will host a charity drive at Kwai Chung Hospital today. Pray for us as we partner with different organizations to raise funds through the green collection drive and become better known to the public.   30

Our 4th-phase Child Development Fund Mentorship Programmes of Kwun Tong and Yuen Long will end this month.  May God bless the relationship established through this mentorship programme that continues to flourish and impact lives of the younger generation with His Word.
