We are launching a free daily meal programme at our headquarters in collaboration with an NGO between mid-February and mid-May, for 50 needy families from Monday to Friday at 6 p.m. Pray that it helps deliver warmth and love to the deprived in our neighbourhood.

Today sees our Youth Development Service team organize a cooking class for about 20 youngsters at headquarters.  Pray that they learn the joy of cooking and that they will be impacted to explore more about themselves; and dare to dream and walk on a path pleasing to God.

Several senior management executives of the Qinghai Charity Welfare Hospital visited some HK hospitals and rehabilitation centres for the disabled last month.  Pray that such an interflow will help improve the overall treatment and care for the disabled and needy children on the Tibetan Plateau.   4

Today a group of 96 clients from the Mong Kok New Arrivals Service Centre will visit a theme park fully sponsored by a generous corporation.  Pray that all participants will cherish this precious moment and family time together which they could hardly afford on their meager income.

Our Season of Love 2016 ended last month.  Thanks should be given to all workers, volunteers, donors and for prayers supporting our signature fund-raising campaign that jointly lead to its success.

Two of our ethnic minority colleagues were nominated to the Race for Opportunities Diversity List 2017 that enlists some committed and competent ethnic minority individuals with expertise and experience who may be selected to sit on the government’s or other advisory boards.  Pray that we strive to be the salt and light of society through our advocacy and service.

Today our social enterprise’s “Green Collection Programme” will be implemented in Kwai Chung Hospital.  Pray that more channels will be developed to collect high-quality used or new items for resale in our outlets, the proceeds of which support our ministry work in Hong Kong.   8

Today is International Women’s Day. 
May God uplift the refugee women and mothers who are estranged from their families and give them resilience, faith and hope to withstand all the challenges and destitution in HK.  Please uphold these women in your prayers.

Kwun Tong and Kowloon East have been undergoing rapid transformation. Today our Training Services Division will conduct a grand recruitment day offering over 4,000 job opportunities on a full-time or part-time basis in more than 30 well-established corporations.  Pray that we strive to meet the rapidly changing needs of job-seekers in this area.   10

Christian Action will be participating at the Caring Company Partnership Expo 2017 hosted by the HK Council of Social Service today. Pray that we gain an enthusiastic response in soliciting partnerships in different areas including corporate social responsibility, green collection programme, and training services. May His name be glorified via our services.

Our Ministry Coordination Team is assisting the mentees of the school-based CDF mentorship programme in forging their personal development plans.  Pray that it helps strengthen tripartite ties connecting the mentors, mentees and their parents to widen the life horizons of the young generation and actualize their dreams.   12

Today the Philippine Consulate, Christian Action and another NGO will jointly organize an event to celebrate International Women’s Day.  Pray for its seamless cooperation and communication; and that it will successfully add oodles of fun and sweet memories to the migratory domestic helpers, the marginalized sector, working far away from their homeland and families.

Praise God!  CA’s Employees Retraining Board (ERB) team won three major prizes. Our corporate partners received several awards at the ERB’s Award Presentation Ceremony last Saturday.  Pray that such partnerships will foster our shared social responsibility, continuing to bless the community year after year.   14

May God abundantly bless our Integrated Employment Assistance Service’s applications to extend the service provision.  Pray that we strive to empower the unemployed clients with much-needed job skills and self-confidence; and help them realize their dreams.

As the academic year will soon come to an end, we will conduct a bartering activity at the HK Polytechnic University today.  Pray that it will arouse public awareness on campus towards environmental preservation, especially to those on foreign exchange programmes who tend to dispose of their stuff like clothes, books, small electrical appliances and furniture before they return home.   16

This afternoon our ethnic minorities service team will participate in the ‘International Day’ held in a local vocational training institution.  Pray that we will be able to invest in the lives of the vulnerable students and help cultivate their spiritual insight through our service.

This month sees a special birthday party, sponsored by a private company, at headquarters for 30 New Arrival Mongkok Service Centre’s clients.  Pray that all of them will personally feel how cherished they are in God’s eyes through our service.     18

Echoing the theme of “connectivity” in Energizing Kowloon East FF01 sponsored by the Kwun Tong District Board, a Green Fun Camp formerly scheduled for last month will be held today.  Besides green collection, barter and recycling workshops will be provided.  Pray that more residents in the district will be aroused to learn about Christian Action’s commitment to fostering cohesion in the community.

Mei, a baby girl (about 11 months old) from Xining Children’s Home suffers from Microcephaly that adds to her severe growth retardation.  Recently she was also diagnosed with serious hearing impairment.  Please pray for a miraculous healing by God-sent specialists to help and heal this baby angel as she is so frail and small.      20

Christian Action Asia (USA) is seeking funding from corporate foundations in the United States.  Pray that it will garner enough support to rescue, nurture and serve the orphans and "at risk" children and youth in Qinghai.

Today marks the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.  Pray that more people will read and practice God’s message in 1 John 3:11 For this is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another (regardless of race and ethnicity).   22

Our Training Services Division has conducted several career workshops and seminars in Kowloon East this month to promote the Employees Retraining Board’s training programmes.  Pray that all of them will effectively benefit the job seekers who attend.

As the time of public examinations is around the corner, we have opened a study room at our headquarters for the residents in the vicinity.  Pray that we will continue to serve the needy in our neighbourhood.          24

Christian Action Asia launched its spring mailing campaign in mid-March. Pray that more friends in the States will be inspired to embrace our Friends of Qinghai Children Programme and that they will be personally touched to love and help the disabled and abandoned children.

Today marks Christian Action’s 5th Three-Legged Charity Walk x F.U.N. Carnival at Clear Water Bay.  Pray that the weather will be wonderful, the activities will be run smoothly and that it will turn into a popular fundraiser which brings us multiple returns to embrace our ministry helping grassroots families in Hong Kong as well as the disabled and deprived children in Qinghai.

Thanks should be given to many district council members for their support to our appeal to retain the New Horizons Building as our permanent headquarters.  On Tuesday, they will speak up for us at the Kwun Tong District Social Service Committee.  Please pray that the government will hear our voices and present us with a win-win solution.

The Ministry Coordination Team will organize workshops on financial planning and adventure training for the 5th-phase CDF youth mentees this month.  Pray that they will learn self-discipline and have the courage to manage their finance and lives with God’s perspective through this initiative.      28

Eric, a teenager from the Xining Social Welfare Institute suffering from cerebral palsy, came to HK in October for post-surgical rehabilitation treatment and will return home this week.  Pray for his safe trip and that he will grow from strength to strength both physically and spiritually.

Today Mrs. Cheung-Ang Siew Mei, our Executive Director, in her capacity as a Justice of the Peace, will visit an Immigration Department’s detention centre.  Pray that God makes her His good messenger!   30

A series of 12 music classes given by an NGO were connected to our Ministry Coordination Team through our partner church network.  This initiative is aimed at developing the music potentiality of our ethnic minority mentees.  Pray that we jointly deliver His love and care to the beneficiaries.

Pray that more Chinese churches in the UK will be uplifted and more Christians from the university student congregations across the country will be called to serve the disabled and deprived children in Qinghai.  Amen!
