Our Youth Development Service Team will conduct a handicraft class today for clients aged from 15 to 24. Pray that all of them will grasp the chance to explore their talents; and are inspired to learn how cherished they are in the eyes of God.    2

Our “Green Collection Charity Drive” will be launched at a private housing estate on Hong Kong side today and tomorrow.  Pray for excellent used items that we can sell through our charity outlets, which partially finance our ministries in Hong Kong.

The former manager of our Centre for Refugees underwent an operation in late May.  May God bless him with a quick and steady recovery.   He will re-join us as a consultant this month.

Pray for wisdom, mercy and perseverance for our Migrant Domestic Workers team who strive to love and care for the women in the shelter who may be sick or tortured by injustice and abuse.  May God send compassionate and competent angels to walk closely with these women so they will always feel loved and treasured.

Christian Action Asia (USA) received abundant support for our meaningful “Back to Serve” initiative in which our first two adopted girls will return to Qinghai to serve. Pray that more overseas adopted grown-up youngsters will share the same dream to serve.

Urgent!
Our Ethnic Minorities services team needs funds to sustain their ambassador programmes for ethnic minority youth in the urban areas this July.  Pray that they strive to reach out to the targeted group aged from 6 to 24; and help them get integrated smoothly into the community.

Our Sheung Shui Centre will organize different support teams for various target groups.  Tomorrow a team will start providing mutual support to the women with financial and emotional burdens on a weekly basis.  Hopefully it will help relieve the stress of the clients after joining our programme.  Let’s pray for it.

May God bless the refugees stranded in Hong Kong temporarily, especially those who are sick and gloomy about their future, that they will receive His comfort, strength and vision to withstand the challenges ahead. Amen!

Christian Action is seeking support for our stay at New Horizons Building (NHB).  Pray for steadfast support from our friends, neighbours and the public by Submitting Representation to the Town Planning Board before the deadline on 13 June and that we are granted permission to stay and serve the needy at NHB.   10

Due to the ageing population in Hong Kong, our Training Services Division co-organized several workshops yesterday and will conduct some more on the 22nd of this month for the public housing estate tenants in our vicinity.  This initiative aims at promoting our Employees Retraining Board training programme and mutual help among the senior population.  Please pray for it.

Pray that more committed Christians from the Chinese Church congregations in the UK will be moved to respond to His call to serve in the children’s homes as short-term workers in Qinghai.    12

Currently our Information Technology Department is heavily engaged in two major projects.  Pray for His wisdom, strength and protection to be with the team and God-sent angels to work with.  Amen!

Praise God!
Many different church/organizations/families from Hong Kong or overseas will visit our children homes in Qinghai this month delivering love, care and professional aid to the abandoned and disabled children on the Tibetan Plateau. Pray that all of them are moved by the plight of the needy children there and will eventually support our ministry as donors/supporters/prayer partners.

The Training Services Division and Social Services Department hosted two job market info days for our clients in the Sheung Shui Centre scheduled last week and today.  Pray that our service recipients will be empowered to enter the job market with greater ease.

Pray for the approval of our proposal to the Kwun Tong District Board titled “Beautiful Mind to Choi Hung” (秀勵達彩虹).  We hope to impart the right life values to 900 beneficiaries including the deprived families on welfare and new arrival families; instilling positive thinking, self-confidence and responsibility, and that they will decide to pursue a God-pleasing life.   16

Our Green Collection drive co-organized with Hong Kong Bank will end today.  May God bless us as we continue to broaden the channels to collect good-quality used or new items for resale in our outlets so that the proceeds will support our ministry work in Hong Kong.

Today is World Refugees Day!   
An event will be held at Island Evangelical Community Church to arouse public awareness regarding the predicament of the refugees and torture claimants in Hong Kong.  Pray that the government and the general public will have empathy for this marginalized sector of the community.

Pray that Christian Action thrives to aid the children who have been abandoned by their fathers! Pray that they have a model man in their communities as the right fatherly figure for them to look upto. Amen!

Our SHINE Centre has started running an Erhu class for its centre users including locals and ethnic minorities since April. In the past months, we organized performance concerts for them to gain more exposure and practice in public activities.  Pray that they learn how precious and special they are in His eyes.   20

We urgently need a compassionate and committed social worker to carry out the work schedule for the Huangnan Children’s Home.  May God send His chosen angel to deliver hope and love for the deprived children in one of the poorest areas in China.

This morning about 100 mentee children (ages 9-10) from the Batch 3 School-based Child Development Fund Programme under the care of our Ministry Coordination Team will visit the Hong Kong Police College.  They will also watch the Police Graduation Parade which is held only once a year.  Pray that the beneficiaries will treasure such a precious moment, decide to walk on a God-pleasing path and repay the community with love and faith.   22

Many children under the care of our Mong Kok New Arrival Service Centre will soon take their internal final examinations.  Pray that all of them will work hard to achieve their best results.

One of our Migrant Domestic Workers’ shelters is faced with complaints and even hostility from the neighbours that puts extra strain on the clients who are in midst of their employment tribunals or sickness.  Pray for His divine comfort, justice and protection to heal the broken hearts especially those suffering from abuse and exploitation.    24

Very high living costs in Hong Kong mean that many grassroots families have to work long hours to earn a living, leaving little time for family relationships.  We will co-host a parents’ talk this Sunday with a large private corporation in Hong Kong that aims to arouse parents’ awareness of the importance of spending quality time together and effective communication with their children.

Today is a graduation ceremony for some special English classes run regularly over the past year.  The initiative was sponsored by the International Christian Assembly for new arrival children and women.  Pray that the beneficiaries will feel cherished and empowered to face challenges ahead in future.    26

Students from local schools and universities will intern for Christian Action this summer.  Pray that they will achieve their goals and gain valuable working insight and experience, which will impact the  community in the future.

Yesterday we organized a thematic trial workshop at the Choi Hung Centre for ethnic minorities to explore their interests in catering.  Pray that we strive to serve our neighbourhood with more dynamic and innovative training programmes to cater for the market needs.   28

Today our Training Services Division will host an activity about retailing trade at our Kowloon East Service Centre. Pray that more job seekers will grasp new insight and skills through our services and enter the field with full confidence and the right gear very soon.

Our free daily meal initiative run from mid-February will end on 30th June.  Blessed are those who are always prepared and pleased to serve and help the needy as God loves cheerful givers.  2 Corinthians 9:7

Christian Action is preparing our upcoming Flag Day on 9 August 2017 (Wednesday) when all partnering schools have their summer vacation.  The recruitment of volunteers may pose a great obstacle.  Pray that our partnering corporations, supporters, friends, churches and others will be motivated to join us to raise funds for a meaningful cause.
