Christian Action is raising funds for the renovation of its new headquarters. Please uphold us in your prayers that we will get positive support from all sources, including help from the government, professionals, and the public as we continue our mission to serve the unserved.

Christian Action Asia will launch its spring mailing campaign this month.  Pray that more dedicated supporters in the States will join to embrace our Friends of Qinghai Children Programme and that they will be moved to love and support disabled and abandoned children.   4

Despite a strain on manpower, our Integrated Employment Assistance Programme Sheung Shui Centre will organize 4 excursions, including a visit to Kadoorie Farm and a workplace tour to help our clients to grasp more information about the job market.  Pray that we would help them realize their dreams with courage and strength.

A student from City University of Hong Kong has started her internship at our Centre for Migrant Domestic Workers from January to mid-May.  She comes to our service centre three times a week and focuses on paralegal services and conducting workshops on cultural sensitivity and relationship building. Pray that this internship will bring about a win-win scenario and benefit society as a whole.    6

We have been trying to improve the livelihood of 18 handicapped young adults in our Bridge Programme at Xining Social Welfare Institute. They are trained in a sheltered workshop to do simple work tasks for an allowance.  Pray that the workshop would better prepare them for potential advancement to supported employment in the future.

Today our Social Enterprise Division will host a fun day sponsored by Estate Management Advisory Committee for the neighbours.  Pray that the public will recognize us as a organisation devoted to Jesus’ call to help the marginalized and needy among us.   8

Today is International Women’s Day. 
Our Migrant Domestic Workers team will reach out to women working far away from their homeland writing and sketching at Victoria Park today.  Pray that they will be inspired to greater creativity and be filled with hope and love.

Mrs. Cheung-Ang Siew Mei, our Executive Director, will deliver a lecture at Baptist University Hong Kong today.  Pray that her sharing will inspire more to serve God and support the work that we do. Amen!   10

Today is the closing ceremony of Employees Retraining Board (ERB) 25th anniversary along with the 10th anniversary of ERB’s Manpower Development Scheme Award Presentation.Christian Action and its partners, 8 corporations and 20 individuals, will be awarded for their outstanding performance over the year.  Pray that we continue to partner with corporations and individuals to empower job seekers.

Keep praying for our co-management contract renewals with relevant local authorities for our various children’s homes and Bridge Programme in Qinghai.  Pray for His insight and guidance in our communication and cooperation as we strive to deliver life changing services to the disadvantaged and disabled.   12

In midst of the flu outbreak, staff and clients of Centre for Refugees have been suffering from an ongoing flu virus in February.  Please pray for Godly protection, healing, and recovery for all of them.

Some philanthropists from Rotary Club of Bayview will sponsor yum cha this month for 30 elders under the current free meal campaign at New Horizons Building. Pray that more committed donors will join us to love those in need through action.   14

This afternoon, our Ethnic Minorities Integrated Services Woosung Street Centre will organize an outreach drive known as “Cultural Harmony Day” at a secondary school in Wong Tai Sin.  Games like country flag matching, popular South Asian foods, costumes, and Henna drawing will be provided. Pray that the event will foster cultural integration among different ethnicities.

The Social Enterprise Division will launch a charity sale: 隨意配搭 穿出自我 X Christian Action Charity Drive (a.k.a. My Way: Mix-and-Match) at Kwai Chung Hospital today.  Pray that the event would raise awareness of our efforts to build a greener Hong Kong.   16

Today, Christian Action will participate in the Caring Company Expo 2018 hosted by HK Council of Social Service at HK Convention & Exhibition Centre.
Pray that we would receive an enthusiastic response in soliciting partnerships in different areas including corporate social responsibility, green collection programmes, and training services. May His name be glorified via our services.

Hoorah!  Today sees our 6th 3-Legged Charity Walk at the Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club!
Pray for the perfect weather and for all activities to be carried out smoothly. Pray also that the event will bring in the funds needed to continue serving deprived children in Hong Kong and Qinghai.

In the past two weeks, our Ministry Coordination Team Sau Mau Ping Centre has run two workshops on skin and health care for our youth clients.  Pray that they would learn the importance of honouring God with their bodies.

This Friday evening, 30 kids under the care of our New Arrivals Mong Kok Service Centre will be sponsored to enjoy a wonderful time at the centre packed with food, fun, and friendship. Pray that more organizations will join us to deliver life-changing services to these precious children.   20

This month, our “Green Collection Charity Drive” will be at different venues, including housing estates and office buildings across the city.  Pray for many of these high-quality second-hand items to sell, generating income for our ministries in Hong Kong.

Over this month, the Training Services Division has run several promotional events about training opportunities in fields including healthcare, flower arrangements, housekeeping, and others.  Pray that more people will be enriched by what they learn and be better equipped to enter the job market.

Our Information Technology Department is going to implement the second phase of replacing obsolete computers by the end of this month.  Pray for smooth delivery and timely installation so that we would have greater efficiency.   24

Today 10 welfare beneficiary families under our Integrated Employment Assistance Programme Sau Mau Ping Service Centre will visit a local elderly nursing home and enjoy some fun time with the elderly before Easter Festival.  Pray that they will personally understand the power of giving.

Mrs. Cheung, our Executive Director, will attend and participate Passover Conference during her visit to Malaysia next week.  Pray that stronger church relations will be established to support our ministries in Qinghai, and may His name be glorified.   26

Our Sheung Shui Centre organized three interest classes including dessert-making and exercise for the new arrival families in the vicinity.  Pray that our services would make a difference in the lives of our clients who live in one of Hong Kong’s poorest areas.

In February, a double-decker bus toppled over in Hong Kong killing 19 people and injuring more than 60.  May God personally comfort the families of the victims and the hurting and minister His peace to them.  Amen!   28

Our Ministry Coordination Team Long Ping Centre will organize an “Easter Egg Hunt” for mentees and their mentors under the 5th phase of the CDF mentorship programme.  Pray that this helps strengthen the relationship of the pairs and that the youth will be led to seek God and walk His path.

Today about 1,800 service users of Christian Action have been sponsored to visit a local theme park.  Pray that all participants will cherish this day and the precious time spent with their families, which they would hardly be able to afford normally.   30

May the staff of Christian Action meditate on the suffering and sacrifice of Jesus Christ.  Pray that we will be uplifted by His word, His sacrificial example, and His presence. Pray also that we would continue to serve with passion and conviction.

Give thanks! 
After months of practice, Our SHINE – Tuen Mun Centre’s choir known as “Hum Sub Milkar Gaye大喊十無國界合唱團” has performed in different parts of Tuen Mun advocating love and unity this month.  The project is sponsored by our Social Welfare Department and consists of ethnic minorities and locals singing both Cantonese and Hindi songs.  Pray that we would continue to promote community inclusion through our ministry.
