Our China programme team will have a 2-day retreat in Sai Kung today and tomorrow. Pray that they will be uplifted and empowered to follow Jesus’ example as salt and light, spreading warmth and hope to the poor and disabled children on the Tibetan Plateau.

Tomorrow is International Youth Day.
Pray that refugees, especially the younger generation, would have their faith reignited. May Our Lord be with them always so that they would walk steadily on His path with confidence and courage despite challenges in life.

Our Executive Director, Mrs. Cheung-Ang Siew Mei, past chairlady of Justice and Social Concern Committee (JSCC), HK Christian Council, will meet several government authorities such as the Security Bureau, Social Welfare Department and Education Bureau today.  Pray that she would be a voice for the voiceless, bringing mercy and justice to marginalized sectors of the community, including ethnic minorities, refugees, and others.

This afternoon, our Ethnic Minorities Service Team will address the undergrads of Education University about strategies for working with diverse families and the outcomes. Pray that we would strengthen understanding and communication between different races.

Praise God!  Our SHINE – Ethnic Minorities Tuen Mun Service Centre will host an excursion to Inspiration Lake today.  About 30 clients will enjoy a nature walk, games, and God’s creation even though they may be physically or mentally confined due to language barriers and financial limitation.  Pray that they would feel appreciated and integrate into the community with ease.

About 15 youngsters (aged 15 to 24) from our Youth Development Service Department are undergoing an 8-day training session starting next Monday, which includes the core course, an agency visit, and an excursion.  Pray that the project will equip them for a better future with direction, strength, and godly values.     8

Tomorrow, a JSCC meeting will be held at our Centre for Refugees.  Pray that more people would understand our ministry for the neglected and marginalised in the city and recognise us as followers of Jesus who said, “whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” Matthew 25:40.

Project Teal Phase 1 has begun, and our Mongkok New Arrivals Service Centre has provided HPV scans to its women clients. Today, there will be a press conference by the sponsor, sharing the tasks completed and kicking off the 2nd phase to follow up identified cases.  Pray that more supporters would join us to express His divine love and care, especially to the needy and poor!

Our Social Enterprise Division has been launching various Green Collection Charity Drive’s in private housing estates across the city since April.  Pray that high-quality used goods would be gathered for sale in our charity outlets to partially fund our ministry in Hong Kong.

We are fundraising a significant amount for the renovation of our new Christian Action Centre in Choi Wan. Pray that we would receive generous donations as we seek potential donors for the cause.  We desperately need your prayers and support!

Give thanks! A generous donor has contributed to conduct a 4-hour workshop for 4 Saturdays this month on smart phone app design for 10 mentees of our mentorship programme under Child Development Fund.  Pray that this would better equip these young people to map out their future career plans.

A food processing corporation has partnered with Sheung Shui Centre to offer job vacancies to our clients since March.  Pray that more corporate partners would join us to embrace the needy of our community.  Amen!

An Indonesian domestic worker who had once stayed at our MDW shelter returned home last month for health reasons after working in Hong Kong for more than a decade. Pray for His presence, comfort, and healing be with her; and that she would quickly adapt to her home town and recover soon.    16

Ramadan, the Holy month of our Muslim clients, will last from today to 14 June.  Pray that they would be spiritually up-lifted through self-reflection and strive to walk with hope and love on a God-pleasing path despite the challenges they face.

May God bless our efforts to serve job seekers and those seeking career advancement as we scheduled an Employees Retraining Board’s training info day in Kowloon East last week. Pray that our dynamic vocational training programmes would be enriching and bring them closer to realising their dreams.   18

Today and next Friday, 10 women from our Integrated Employment Assistance Programme Sau Mau Ping Service Centre will learn how to make leather products.   Pray that they would personally understand how special and talented they are through the process.  Amen!

An article on Xin Hua News depicted how caring couples are hired to play the parenting role in our Xin Ning Court in Qinghai, a home-like nursery that houses 17 disabled orphans.  Loving mamas stay home to offer round-the-clock care and daily training to the children.  Pray that our ministry would continue promoting welfare for our beneficiaries for a better and brighter future.   20

Praise God!  We have been reconnected to friends and supporters overseas through social media platforms like Christian Action Asia’s Facebook and others.  Pray that more people will be inspired to join us as donors and prayer warriors. We treasure every bit of support! Amen!

Please pray for a seamless co-operation with the Qinghai Government as we renew the mutual agreements on co-managing the children’s homes. Pray that we would strive to improve the lives and minister to the needs of needy children there.

Summer is coming!  Pray for God’s continual protection over our street level fund raisers who work during hot and rainy days to recruit supporters for the Friends of Qinghai Children Programme.  May they reap abundant fruit for their efforts.   24

Funded by the Women’s Commission, we have been running workshops on coffee roasting, make-up and manicure under the initiative “Enjoy a Carefree Life” 就業展能『悠』妍自得in May for women from low-income families in the area.   Pray that they would be better equipped to live a carefree and fulfilling life through our service.

Our Ministry Coordination Team Long Ping Service Centre will co-organize a carnival at Long Ping Estate with Yuen Long Community Church of Christ this afternoon for about 300 local residents.  Pray that participants would enjoy this event as we help foster a cohesive community.

To better prepare for our headquarters reprovision, our Information Technology Department has started revamping the website.  Pray for a smooth transition; every minute and step is in His control and under His protection.  Amen!   30

A medical delegation of 16 medical professionals from Canada (including dentist and doctor) is planning to visit Qinghai Welfare Charity Hospital and Xining Children’s Home in mid-June.  Pray that more professional teams would partner with us to bring love and care to impoverished children this summer.

Many children under the care of our New Arrival Service Centres will take their internal final school examinations in June.  Pray that all of them would work hard to achieve their best results.
