On 9 May, the press conference for Project Teal Phase 1 was a success in raising public concern towards the health of women from low-income families.
Among 150 women from our Mongkok New Arrivals Service Centre who had received HPV scans, 2 were identified as high risk cases and referred to the hospital for further treatment.  Pray that more corporate partners will join us to bring love and care to these women.

Our Social Enterprise Division has launched various “Green Collection Charity Drives” in different locations including private housing estates and private corporations this month.  Pray that more partners would join us to build a greener world and fund our ministry in Hong Kong.

Christian Action is raising funds for the move to our new headquarters in Choi Wan early next year.  Pray for a favourable reply in August for our submitted proposals so that renovation will begin in September as planned.  Amen!    4

Give thanks! Christian Action UK successfully presented our ministry in Qinghai at the Church Mission Fair in the UK in mid-May. May God connect us with benevolent and devoted donors to support our work in China.

This Friday, our Youth Development Service team will run an initiative for 8 Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE) candidates, advising them on how to readjust the Joint University Programme Admission System (JUPAS) choices upon receiving the HKDSE results.
Pray that this better prepares them in the process and relieves stress; and they would understand how precious they are in the eyes of the Lord.

May God connect a compassionate illustrator perfect for our annual fundrasier, the Season of Love Charity Drive 2018.  Pray for His inspiration and direction, and that our efforts will reap multi-fold returns to sustain our ministries in HK and Qinghai.

This week, we co-organise with a community organization two activities for our neighbours to make rice dumplings (a traditional Chinese festive food) for Dragon Boat Festival.  Pray that we help foster mutual understanding between ethnicities in order to build a more inclusive society.   8

A veteran Prosthetist-Orthotist will serve as a volunteer in our Bridge Programme this week.  Pray that we would enhance children’s welfare in Qinghai so that they would grow strong and healthy..

Our Ministry Coordination Team will teach financial management to 30 student mentees under our school-based mentorship programme in the next three weekends.  Pray that the training also prepares them to learn a Godly perspective on finances.   10

Two clients from our Migrant Domestic Workers Programme shelter are undergoing long and stressful lawsuits on assaults against their former employers.  May God empower them with His justice, love and peace during this difficult time.  Amen!

2 volunteers from a Singaporean tertiary institution are visiting our children’s homes in Qinghai province to explore further training in computer knowledge for the children. Pray that more supporters would embrace our mission to serve the needy on the Tibetan Plateau with love.   12

Our Sheung Shui Centre will conduct a class next Tuesday to better equip 6-8 service users in their interviewing skills and positive thinking for finding jobs.  Pray that they would feel love and care from their community and find courage to pursue their dreams with confidence.

This month our Ministry Coordination Team Sau Mau Ping Centre organises board game activities every Wednesday for mentees under our mentorship programme.  Pray that this would enhance their skills in problem solving, communication and life outlook.   14

Tomorrow marks the end of our 3-week “Green Collection Charity Drive” co-organised with HK Bank at its office buildings in Mongkok, Tseung Kwan O and Shek Mun.  Pray that we would collect good-quality used or new items to resell in our outlets to fund our ministries in Hong Kong and Qinghai.

Ramadan ends today and our Muslim clients under Hong Kong humanitarian services will be celebrating Eid al-Fitr.  Pray that they would be refreshed and rested spiritually, and empowered to overcome any challenges ahead with joy, peace and love.   16

This month, there are two activities organised by CATS-Alumni and Fans Club on insurance and nutrition.  Pray that these events would offer an effective support system to trainees and alumni in pursuing their goals.

Today is the Dragon Boat Festival!
May God bless Christian Action’s staff to meditate on His word: “Be still and know that I am God”  Psalms  46:10,  during this holiday.  Pray that all of us would be lifted up and strengthened to withstand challenges with strength, courage and hope.

There will be a day camp at our Headquarters for 30 pairs of parents and kids of PLK Madam Chan Wai Chau Memorial School this Saturday. Pray the event will create a sense of unity in our community and provide a fun day for all.   20

Today is World Refugee Day.  A celebration was held last Saturday at the CCC Wanchai Church with the theme “Show Hospitality to Strangers”.  May God share His mercy and love to His followers and remind all Hong Kong people refugees’ identities as His beloved children.

This week, our Training Services Division is conducting several workshops on restaurant jobs for the residents in Kowloon East. Pray that the attendants would learn about our ERB training programmes and be led to sign up for these life-enriching training packages.   22

Integrated Employment Assistance Programme Sau Mau Ping Serve Centre will launch a training camp emphasising career planning and work skill development for about 20 service users on welfare benefits today.  Pray that we would successfully equip them to re-enter the job market with confidence.

Today Mrs. Cheung-Ang Siew Mei, our Executive Director, will have a great reunion in the States with some adoptees from our Xining Children’s Home and their forever families to share CA’s work in Qinghai over past 2 decades and brainstorm for future programme development.  Pray for precious moments that touch their hearts and inspire them to support the work of CA in Qinghai.   24

Yesterday was the graduation of the “English Connect Programme”, an initiative run by the International Christian Assembly Manna Ministry for 42 children (ranging from primary 2 to form 4) and 5 women from our New Arrival Mongkok Service Centre.  Pray that more churches would embrace our mission to share light and hope to the needy as we follow Jesus Christ’s example.

Today and tomorrow our Training Services Division will collaborate with Recruit to launch a 2-day recruitment in Kai Tin district.  Pray that the attendants would be well prepared to enter the dynamic job market.

Our Ethnic Minorities team Woosung Centre will host an open day this weekend for its centre users that includes henna, game booths, traditional snacks, food stalls, dance and cajon performances, and more.  Pray that all participants would enjoy the event and feel cherished by the community.    28

Pray that Christian Action Asia’s Facebook will continue to draw more enthusiastic supporters to join our Friends of Qinghai Programme through this virtual platform.  Pray that they would be inspired to act generously to assist the disabled and abandoned children in our homes.

The Sheung Shui Centre co-organised with Lee Chi Tat Memorial School an adaption programme, including a tutorial class and personal growth activities for 10 new arrival children of the school.  The tutorial class will end  this month.  Pray that we would strive to serve the impoverished and marginalised with even more partners in the future.   30
