A medical group from the Traditional Chinese Medicine school of a local university is visiting the Xining Children’s Home, Social Welfare Institute, and Qinghai Charity Hospital from now until 11th July.  Pray that more professionals will partner with us to improve the welfare of at-risk children in Qinghai.

This month, the Training Services Division co-organized 3 DIY workshops for making sun block and skin care products for summer with the local community. Pray that more residents in the district would learn more about our life-enriching activities.   4

Our “Green Collection Charity Drive”, co-organized with a well-established construction corporation, will end on 8th July.  Pray for generous donations of excellent used items for resale in our outlets to finance our ministry in Hong Kong and Qinghai.

This afternoon, about 10 teenagers under the care of our Youth Development Service team will visit Youth Employment Start to learn and prepare for forging their futures.  Pray that they would understand how precious they are in the eyes of the Lord through the programme.   6

Co-organized with various organizations, Project Teal Phase 2 will start tomorrow, providing HPV scans to 150 woman clients of Mongkok New Arrivals Service Centre.  Pray that these grassroots women would feel cherished and cared for as we follow Jesus’ example to share His divine love with them.

Our Social Enterprise Division will launch the “Share to Love Charity Book Drive” at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre over the weekend.  Pray that we would garner more financial support through the resale of the used items to sustain our ministry in both Hong Kong and Qinghai.   8

Mrs. Cheung-Ang Siew Mei, our Executive Director, will have another reunion in the States with some adoptive families today to share Christian Action’s work in Qinghai over past two decades.  Pray that more hearts would be moved to embrace our mission and vision to help disadvantaged and disabled orphans in Qinghai.

Our SHINE Centre hosted a carnival titled as “Moment Lens” at Tuen Mun Yan Oi Square yesterday afternoon for the neighbours which included a variety show performance by members of the ethnic minority community, interactive games, and informative booths.  Pray that it would help foster cultural understanding and community integration.   10

An event was held in June to raise public awareness towards the predicament of refugees and torture claimants in Hong Kong.  May God stir hearts of attendants to embrace this marginalized community with great empathy and concern. Amen!

Today is the 2018 HK Diploma of Secondary Examination (DSE) results release day.  May God bless all students with His inspiration and insight to choose the right path. Amen!   12

Please continue to pray with us as we are raising funds for the renovation and move to new headquarters in Choi Wan early next year.  Pray for our steady faith in His protection and provisions; and that the transition would be smooth. Amen!

Mrs. Cheung will speak at the Global Youth Leader Summit at HK Polytechnic University this afternoon, sharing her passion to serve the needy and marginalized while following Jesus’ example. Pray that the younger generation would be inspired to help the needy.   14

Our CATS-Alumni and Fans Club will conduct a job enrichment workshop today.  Pray that this would empower the trainees and alumni with useful and practical job skills.

Praise God for granting us an alternative venue quickly when the tenancy agreement of our Tuen Mun SHINE Centre (for Ethnic Minorities) expired this summer.  Pray that the renovation and removal will be completed on schedule as we strive to aid our clients in the district without any interruptions.   16

30 welfare recipients from Sheung Shui Service Centre will attend a recruitment day offered by a local catering chain today.  Pray that they would be better prepared to re-enter the job market with confidence and courage.

Today and tomorrow our Training Services Division will host a recruitment day at Kai Tin Shopping Centre.  Pray that we would strive to serve the job seekers in the Kowloon East; that they would get more updated job information and better offers.   18

Today begins our photo shooting in Qinghai, capturing and featuring some life-changing stories in our ministry on the Tibetan Plateau.  May the Lord shower His inspiration, direction, and protection on the team as they conduct this exciting trip.

We will meet Choi Wan EMAC this evening to hear the needs of the district we serve; and to explore more chances for future collaborations upon our move to Choi Wan early next year.  Pray that we launch more needs-oriented services for our beloved neighbours.   20

A new centre in-charge has recently joined our To Kwa Wan Centre under Migrant Domestic Workers Programme.  Pray that she would adapt to the new working environment quickly and the team would be unified to better serve our clients.

In collaboration with International Christian Assembly, Mongkok New Arrival Services Centre has launched a whole-day bible study class for 15 children from 16th to 22nd July. Pray for these families, that they would feel how deep God’s love is through the services we provide.

Summer vacation has come!  
A wilderness camp was organized for some student mentees of the mentorship programme under the Ministry Coordination Team over the weekend.  Pray that all of them would cherish this time and feel empowered to live godly lives.

Give thanks to the donors for education grants that enable students in Qinghai to break through the vicious poverty cycle by acquiring higher education. Our board members and some of the donors will meet the students in Huangnan and Tongren this week.

Pray that Christian Action UK will feel uplifted by our prayers as we stand in unity. Pray that more supporters across the country would be touched to support our ministry in Qinghai.

Several undergrads from the Education University of Hong Kong have joined our Social Enterprise Division as interns in mid-June.  Pray that this internship would bring them valuable working experience and life exposure, which also benefits the community as a whole.   26

Our client and staff from Ethnic Minorities (EM) Woosung Service Centre will share their experiences relating to the EM youth ambassador initiative as invited by the Social Welfare Department today.  Pray that we would strive to bring social inclusion across different ethnicities in Hong Kong.  Amen!

Today our Integrated Employment Assistance Programme Sau Mau Ping Service Centre will conduct a workshop to make natural mosquito repellents for 10 women service users.  Pray that this also helps strengthen the support group.   28

Our Ministry Coordination Team Long Ping Centre will introduce its mentorship programme to different churches in Tuen Mun and Yuen Long.  Pray for more close partnerships to deliver life-changing messages to the needy and underprivileged children.

Our China programme team is organizing two large-scale summer camps for over 100 children/youngsters of different age-groups from different children’s homes (including Xining, Guoluo, Huangnan, Haixi and Hainan) in late July.  Pray that they would treasure this time, as many of them are usually confined by physical distance and their disabilities.   30

Praise God! The school term has ended smoothly.  Let’s pray for more funds to sustain the refugee and asylum seekers’ education sponsorship programme for next academic year; pray that more children of these marginalised families are supported to receive formal education in the city.

The Training Services Division will conduct a trial class on the Employee Retraining Board’s forklift truck operation today. Pray that the attendants will understand how important it is to improve themselves in pursuit of their dreams for a better life.
