The Social Enterprise Division is collecting empty mooncake tins from some private enterprises after the mid-autumn festival.  Pray that we effectively use this opportunity to educate the public about the importance of recycling after the festivities.

We will start e-marketing our Seasons of Love Charity Drive 2018 /19 early this month.  Pray for a successful launch that reaps abundant fruit for our ministry in Qinghai and Hong Kong.   4

Christian Action (CA) has been helping refugees for over 3 decades since its inception as Hong Kong Christian Aid to Refugees (HKCAR). This evening Mrs. Cheung-Ang Siew Mei, our Executive Director, will attend a panel discussion at HKU following the talk of a former Vietnamese refugee, who shares her faith in following Jesus Christ.  Pray that we strive to advocate for and safeguard the rights of refugees and asylum seekers in Hong Kong.

This month our Social Enterprise Division will launch different green collection campaigns in Kowloon and the New Territories.  Pray that we will get excellent new or used items to resell at our outlet stores to partly finance our charity services in HK and Qinghai.    6

Today our Tuen Mun SHINE Centre will co-organize a health talk supplemented with a mini health check-up and game booths at the Pok Oi Hospital with other local EM serving organizations.  Pray that we help establish an inclusive community.

Mrs. Cheung, our Executive Director spoke in a church on 2nd October, and will do so again today at another church to share her conviction in CA’s ministry in Qinghai.  Pray that more dedicated hearts will be touched to join us as donors, volunteers and warrior prayers.  May His name be glorified!   8

Today and tomorrow, our Training Services Division will collaborate with Recruit to launch a 2-day recruitment drive in Yau Tong.  Pray that attendees would be better prepared to enter the job market with skills and confidence.  Amen!

This week marks the court hearings for two of our shelter clients of the Migrant Domestic Workers Programme who have been stressed by their assault cases for more than a year.  Please pray for His mercy, comfort and justice for these women in these difficult times.   10

The Kwun Tong mentorship programme of the Child Development Fund under our Ministry Coordination Team started this month.  Pray that the student mentees and their families will be impacted through the programme and the God-sent angels.

Our Ethnic Minorities Integrated Services Woosung Street Centre will organize badminton classes for the young clients every Saturday evening in October. Pray that they will feel cherished and loved by the community.   12

Tomorrow about 48 families on welfare benefit from our Sau Mau Ping Integrated Employment Assistance Service Centre will go for an excursion, sponsored by the government, to Lantau Island.  Pray that the beneficiaries cherish this invaluable and special family time, which may be beyond their normal financial affordability.

Today sees our charity luncheon named “New Season: New Home” to be held at the YMCA.  Pray that more friends will be touched to embrace our ministry on the Tibetan Plateau.  Together we bring love and hope to the unfortunate and handicapped children there.     14

This Wednesday our Migrant Domestic Workers Programme team will co-host a carnival, that includes a service info booth and a handicraft booth.  Pray that we garner more support from the churches and public for this marginalized sector of the community.     16

The parent child relationships in the Northern District, one of the poorest regions in the city, are often strained by heavy workloads and long working hours for the parents.  In light of this, our Sheung Shui Centre will conduct two talks today and next Tuesday to help about 25 clients to enhance their inter-generational ties.  Pray that we instill God’s values in their parenting skills. Amen!

Today is Chung Yeung Festival where hiking and tomb-sweeping are regarded as two main traditions.  Pray that our staff will feel refreshed and relaxed after they go for a walk to enjoy the outdoors endowed with God’s creation.    18

Today representatives of our Centre for Refugees will attend a meeting at the Legislative Council with other stakeholders proposing a review of the appeal procedures relating to the Unified Screening Mechanism.  Pray for His wisdom and justice in concluding a well-balanced and fair decision when our government revises the policy.

A Navratri celebration (a festival to be celebrated every autumn in South Asian countries) will be held at our Ethnic Minorities Woo Sung Street Service Centre tomorrow.  Pray that we would play a proactive role in understanding cross-ethnic variations and fostering diverse and understanding communities.   20

We will plan a vision trip to Qinghai from today to 26 October for an International School in HK.  Pray that our guests and supporters will personally experience the plight of the children there and be deeply moved to embrace our missions there in future.

The Social Enterprise Division will start looking for a suitable site for our “Reborn Green Station” funded by the government.  Pray that we continue to extend our revenue sources to finance our diverse services bringing hope and care to the poor.

Following the last cultural exchange activity completed in mid-October, our Ethnic Minorities Integrated Services Woosung Street Centre will co-organize another one with the same volunteer group this Saturday.   Pray that we help enhance a cohesive community transcending different religions and races.   24

This October, the Training Services Division has organized several activities promoting our Employees Retraining Board’s training classes on catering and hotel housekeeping across the city.  Pray that we continue to equip those seeking better future career paths.

The adverse weather like heavy rainstorms and typhoons has posed a hard time for our direct dialogue team tasked with street-level fund raising.  May God shower His blessings on them so they reap abundant rewards for their hard work.   26

Please continue to pray for the smooth execution of our new Christian Action Centre (CAC) renovation.  May the whole project be held in His hands as he guides and supervises the work that will fulfill His plan. CA strives to serve the disadvantaged in HK and Qinghai.

Today 50 parents and their kids from the Mong Kok New Arrival Services Centre are sponsored by Home Affairs Department to have a wonderful excursion at Kadoorie Farm and Zero-Carbon World; and enjoy a seafood lunch at Lau Fau Shan. Pray that the beneficiaries feel blessed and cared by the community.      28

Today we will host a briefing on targeted saving, a vital element in the Mentorship Programme under the Child Development Fund. Pray that the correct Christian values in wealth management will be imparted to our next generation.

We are proposing an equipment and apparatus list to furnish the new Xining Children’s Home premises.  Pray for His inspiration and provision that helps improve the daily health care standard given to the disabled and deprived children there.

Please pray for His strength and wisdom that we need so much when CA is launching different campaigns such as Seasons of Love Charity Drive, Red Packet for Every Home and Paper House Workshop. Pray that all these exercises turn out to be popular fund-raisers and advocacy for CA, that we will reap bountiful harvests to sustain our ministry.
