Starting this month, Integrated Employment Assistance Programme Sau Mau Ping Service Centre will conduct 6 training classes every Wednesday, for the after-school care programme of 10 clients on welfare benefit. Pray that this helps them re-enter the job market with skills and confidence.

Many children under the care of our children and youth programmes will take their mid-year internal school examinations this month. Pray that all of them will work hard to achieve their best results.   4

Mrs. Cheung-Ang Siew Mei, our Executive Director, will meet an adoptive family in Hong Kong from the States today. The girl, who previously lived in Xining Children’s Home and was adopted in 2008, is now entering adulthood.  Pray that more overseas adopted grown-up youngsters will embrace our Back to Serve initiative and share the same dream to serve.

Today Christian Action and its partners: 17 corporations and a trainer will be awarded at Employees Retraining Board Award Presentation Ceremony 2018/19 for their outstanding performance over the year. Pray that we continue striving to collaborate with corporations and individuals to empower job seekers.

Yesterday afternoon, 100 children from the New Arrivals Mong Kok Service Centre were sponsored lunch and movie in the spirit of this festive season. Pray that we strive to inspire more generous donors to partner with us in delivering love to the deprived sector.

Our Sheung Shui Service Centre will organise a 4-session coffee making class twice a week for 12 youth clients this January. Pray that they will be enriched and equipped to forge their career paths with passion and confidence.    8

Praise God for His provision and protection! We give thanks to the generous trustees of a charitable foundation for funding the renovation and relocation of our new On Tai Service Centre. Pray for the smooth and safe implementation of the project.

Our Ministry Coordination Team has started recruiting mentees and mentors for its 7th-phase of the Tseung Kwan O District Child Development Fund mentorship programme. May God bless that all mentees and their families will be closely connected by this impactful programme.   10

Today is the last day of the one-month-long Green Collection Programme at Baptist University. Pray that we will be able to gather good-quality unwanted items for our charity outlets and fulfil our aim to conserve the environment.

Some parents from the SEN Mutual Support Group of our New Arrivals Mong Kok Service Centre volunteered to man a charity booth in a department store that sells our Season of Love Charity chocolate and the DIY items from our Women’s Support Group today. May God bless them with a fruitful day of raising funds for the disadvantaged children in Hong Kong and Qinghai.     12

Today, our Training Services Division will co-host a day camp at New Horizons Building, our headquarters, for a primary school students and their families. Pray that they will cherish this invaluable family time as many of the parents have to work long hours.

This afternoon, our Tuen Mun SHINE Centre team will host an activity – “Yau Oi: Social Inclusion Carnival 2019” for the residents nearby. Pray that we continue to foster social inclusion through the various activities we run for our beloved community.    14

Today 250 seniors from our New Arrivals Mong Kok Service Centre will be treated to Pun Choi (Basin Feast) at a club house. Pray that they will enjoy this wonderful bliss and gift from God.   16

Social Enterprise Division will host a carnival at Kwai Chung housing estate today. Pray that we will impart environmental preservation to the residents as they prepare to clean up their homes for the Chinese New Year and sustain our charity work through donating good-quality used items they no longer need.

In collaboration with the district police force, the youth ambassadors from our Ethnic Minorities Integrated Services Woosung Street Centre will co-organise an outreach activity in Yau Ma Tei/Mong Kok district this evening. Pray that we continue to partner with different stakeholders to build a community that upholds cultural integration and mutual respect.   18

Our Ministry Co-ordination Long Ping Centre Team will conduct an activity on vintage games such as hopscotch for the mentor-and-mentee pairs in the new batch of Child Development Fund Programme. Pray that it helps establish a long-term relationship that will glorify our Lord.      22

New staff have joined our Centre for Refugees and Corporate Development and Communications Division. Pray for their quick adjustment to a new working environment and work in order to serve our clients with one big heart.

This month, our Training Services Division partnered with other agencies in conducting several career workshops and seminars on different vocations including massage, make-up and skin care, house-keeping and other Employees Retraining Board’s training programmes across the city. Pray that all participants will be enriched and well-informed about the ever-changing job market for their career paths.    24

Our China programme is faced with a donation challenge of raising 5 million yuan this year to furnish the newly extended rehabilitation centre with the necessary medical equipment and apparatus to better serve the needy children of our children’s home and the community as a whole. Amen!

This Sunday, our New Arrivals Mong Kok Service Centre will host a gathering to express their heartfelt gratitude to their donors and friends for the past year. May God connect more dedicated and long-lasting parties to support our ministries in different areas.     26

This month our Social Enterprise Division will collaborate with a property management company, a construction corporation and the local community in launching various green collection drives in different locations. Pray that our goodwill will spread further across the city.

In collaboration with AIDS Concern, our Migrant Domestic Workers Programme team will conduct a health talk on sex education, that is followed by a simple body check which includes weight and height measurements, blood test etc., and a sharing time for the clients today. Pray that more agencies will partner with us to deliver love and care to these women working far away from their hometowns.   28

The first batch of IT equipment will be delivered to our new headquarters in Choi Wan this month. Pray that every step in the procurement and installation will be attuned to God’s plan, and that the renovation work of our new headquarters will be completed on schedule.

This afternoon, some clients from Tuen Mun SHINE Centre will perform in a talent show portion of a cross-cultural variety show themed “We are Family” by the Social Welfare Department at Tuen Mun Yan Oi Central Square. Pray that we continue to play a proactive role in establishing an inclusive and understanding community.   30

Give thanks! A courier company has offered a pro bono repacking service for some of the rehabilitation equipment such as the bath chair and sensory integral training sets, which will then be delivered to Qinghai.  Pray that our China programme team will secure the necessary procurement documents as soon as possible to ensure a timely delivery.

May God bless Christian Action Asia’s (USA) Facebook publicity campaign.  Pray that it will succeed in gaining more than 5,000 new viewers this year, and will form strong connections with friends and partners who will support our ministry to the disabled children and youth on the Tibetan Plateau.
