This morning, our Ethnic Minorities Integrated Services Woosung Street Centre will co-organize a cultural event with a local primary school. Pray that they cherish the wonderful experience such as traditional ethnic minorities’ attire, pose for photographs, and the greetings learnt in different languages.  Pray that we strive to foster a harmonious community of cultural inclusion.   2

The Year of the Pig is around the corner, our Training Services Division will co-host a carnival in Tai Kok Tsui with the local community for all to rejoice together. Pray that all participants will feel empowered by a joyful and cohesive community that they play a big part to build.

During the Chinese New Year vacation, some of our New Arrivals Mong Kok Service Centre’s children will return to their homeland so they will not be left alone in HK during the festival.  Please pray for their safe trips.   4

A Korean lady studying her Master’s Degree in a local university will begin to intern in our Migrant Domestic Workers Programme this month.  Please pray that the internship will lessen the burden of insufficient manpower; and in return she gains invaluable experience from the work.

Please pray for peace in the hearts of the marginalized sojourners especially the refugees and some migrant domestic workers living in our shelters during this festive time. When many others celebrate family reunions, they undergo daily mental and emotional stress.  Pray for God’s protection and provision that will personally comfort them. Amen!

Our Red Packet for Every Home campaign entailing Paper House Workshop and Lai See Charity Sale started in January with a view to inspiring the kids to donate their red packets to aid the less fortunate and needy counterparts in Hong Kong and Qinghai.  Pray that they learn the essence of “It is more blessed to give than to receive”. Acts 20:35

The renovation of “Green Connect” under Social Enterprise Division was completed as scheduled last month.  Pray that we strive to conserve God’s creations by upholding the 3Rs: Reuse, Recycle and Reduce that also helps fund our charity work in Hong Kong.

Some children from our Qinghai children’s homes will return to their extended families during the holidays.  Pray that they will grow better and stronger; and understand how precious they are in the eyes of the Lord. Amen!

Over these two months, the Social Enterprise Division has been jointly running green collection events with a property management corporation at various private housing estates.  Pray that the partnership helps arouse public awareness of the importance of pre-Lunar New Year cleaning, and as an act of generosity to benefit the poor.

Christian Action is entering the count-down phase of bidding farewell to the New Horizons Building soon. Please continue to pray with us for the smooth transfer to the new Christian Action Centre (CAC).  May the occupation permit of CAC be granted as scheduled; and every noticed and unnoticed part be in His hands to fulfill His plan.  Amen!    12

Our China Programme in conjunction with the local authority in strategizing the youth development proposal that aims to better equip the youth in the Xining Children’s Home with skills when they forge their future career path on reaching adulthood.  Pray for His direction and provision in giving dignity to the disadvantaged and disabled children on the Tibetan Plateau.

Praise God!  Some parent-kid pairs from our New Arrivals Mong Kok Service Centre and Training Service Division will be sponsored to visit a local theme park in these three days.  Pray that these grassroots families will feel cherished and cared for as we follow Jesus’ example to share His divine love with them.   14

We will start installing the first batch of AV equipment and networking in our new Christian Action Centre (CAC) this month.  Please pray for its successful installation so that we continue to serve the community as smoothly and steadfastly as planned.      16

Our Ministry Coordination Team Long Ping Centre is recruiting mentors for its newest phase of the mentorship programme.  Pray for His inspiration in matching the perfect mentor-and-mentee pair; and that it helps instill Godly values: faith, hope and love as the core pillars through this life-changing relationship.

Today Mrs. Cheung will share our ministry in Qinghai to a church in Kuala Lumpur.  Pray that more compassionate supporters will join us to spread His love and care to the underprivileged and handicapped children there.   18

Our Sheung Shui Centre will conduct a four-session baking class for about 10 welfare recipients starting from today to the end of February. Pray that the class will help them re-gain self-confidence and joy to re-enter the job market with passion and courage.

May God bless our efforts to serve job seekers and those seeking career advancement as we run several events to promote vocational training under the Employees Retraining Board in Kowloon East this month. Pray that all those who complete our training courses will be enriched to pursue their dreams.    20

We are preparing our annual fundraiser 3-Legged Charity Walk that will be held on 23 March 2019.  May God link up all corporate donors and friends of CA through this annual outdoor event and may all of them together form an integral part of our committed support system.   22

Our Ministry Coordination Team will form a parental support group for the 7th phase Kwun Tong District Child Development Fund (CDF) Mentorship Programme.  May God bless this campaign to connect the right families to us and that His word will be planted in them and change their lives.

Today our Social Enterprise Division will host a carnival themed “Environmental Conservation” at the public housing estates in East Kwai Shing that promotes our green collection programme.  Pray that it helps arouse public awareness across the city towards our mission and services.   24

This afternoon, the youth ambassadors from our Ethnic Minorities Services team will host three booths featuring Henna hand drawing, DIY Henna bookmarks and cultural costume dressing in the Fun Day organized by the government at Kai Tak.  Pray that all participants will enjoy the precious moments and feel the community love.

Some parents and their kids on welfare benefits from IEAPS Sau Mau Ping Service Centre participated in an experiential activity run by an NGO the day before yesterday where they faced great survival challenges and hardships as if they were in a battlefield in South Sudan.  Pray that this would broaden their life horizons and impact them spiritually.    26

Today ends a series of beauty classes starting from mid-January for 8 women of our Sheung Shui Centre. Pray that all of them will be empowered to live out their inner beauty; and learn how pretty they are in God’s eyes.
