Praise God that the 3-Legged Charity Walk 2014 once again drew a large crowd of participants, showing their support for orphans in Qinghai, and raising funds to ensure they are well cared for.

The Training Service Division hosted a tea gathering at Christian Action Headquarters in late March to foster better relationship with the government officials and community members.  Please bless that this partnership will better us to smoothly run more tailor-made vocational training programmes fit for the district.

Please pray for Bin Bin and Xiao Bin from Xining Children’s Home as they recover from the successful surgeries they underwent in March.   6

Five students participating in our Youth Employment and Training Programme (YETP) have been nominated to participate in the Action S5 project, one-year on-the-job training programme through the Labour Department.  Please pray that they will improve their self-confidence, and become more independent.

Please pray for ethnic minority students as they sit for their final Chinese language exams during the Hong Kong Diploma Secondary Education Examinations.  For many brilliant students, poor results in Chinese, where they are under supported, could keep them out of university.   8

Please pray for desperate refugees and asylum seekers who are easily misled, and harmed. May God give them wisdom and protection as they stay temporarily in Hong Kong.

Please pray for us as we assist a domestic helper who has been detained after being victimized by his employer and wrongfully advised by his duty lawyer. We are trying to have him released, as well as helping him to pursue a just outcome for his case.   10

Please pray for our YETP team, as they put together a holistic development programme to cater for the needs of unemployed youngsters.

Please pray for our IT team as we purchase and install a completely new IT system at our new Shun Tin training centre this month, on time to bring a good range of services to the unemployed in that area.   12

Our new arrival Mong Kok centre will collaborate with three schools, arranging outings for new arrival children and their families. Please pray for these families, that they will understand that God loves them through the services we provide.

Please pray for underprivileged families from our Sau Mau Ping Centre as they enjoy a special bus tour of Hong Kong today. This is a rare opportunity to venture outside of their neighborhoods, as they are too poor to afford even these simple leisure activities.

Praise God! A carnival was successfully organized in Lok Fu Plaza by our Training Service Division with a good participation in March.  Pray that we will strive to provide more diversified vocational service in different districts so as to better equip the job seekers to re-enter the job market.

Mrs. Cheung-Ang Siew Mei, our Executive Director, leaves for the USA on the 17th.  Please pray that she will meet people who are passionate about orphans and serving the underprivileged on the Tibetan plateau, ready to be prayer partners, donors and even a board member or two!    16

Today is the last day of our social enterprise’s “Green Collection Charity Drive” in collaboration with a local private enterprise. Pray that the public will be encouraged to donate their high-quality used items to us for resale, the proceeds of which support our ministry work in Hong Kong.   18

Today is Good Friday.  Pray that as we meditate on Jesus’ sacrifice, suffering and crucifixion, we also remember the needs of abused domestic helpers, refugees and asylum seekers, and other marginalized people in Hong Kong.

Many children from our new arrival service centres have to return to their hometowns in the mainland China during the Easter holidays as their parents have to work; and they would have been left home alone.  Pray that they will have a safe trip.   20

Our Ministry Coordination Team have started matching mentors with suitable mentees in our mentorship programme. Pray that the Lord would guide us to select the correct mentor to fit the mentee, and that the mentees would find God through their relationship with their mentor.

Praise the Lord!  Christ is risen!  May the hope of Jesus our Savior through His resurrection encourage our staff at Christian Action’s Service Centre for Refugees and Asylum Seekers who are dealing with a round of intense persecution. Please also pray for those that persecute them!   22

Our Social Enterprise will commence with screening and job matching with a local tertiary institute to explore the opportunity to collaborate over a ‘Summer Internship Programme’. This is a great chance for us to share our work with students in the tertiary education system that may not be aware of the issues surrounding poverty in Hong Kong.

Please continue to pray for Christian Action Asia as they strive to connect more generous supporters across the States to meet their fund raising target for 2014. Pray that more people will be called upon to join our ministry in Qinghai.   24

Our Training Services Division has officially started to launch a new round of Employees Retraining Board programmes. Please pray for us as we provide our clients with another year of quality training and placement packages that will allow them to enter the workplace.

Please pray for the 35 unemployed people in our Integrated Employment Assistance Programme (IEAPS) San Fung Avenue Centre as we empower them to re-enter the workplace, so they no longer have to rely on social welfare assistance.    26

Our Mong Kok service centre for new arrivals will co-organize a day camp with a private corporation at Lei Yue Mun Park and Holiday Village today. Hope that the event will widen the clients’ exposure in the city; and to enable them to quickly adapt to the environment novel to them.
