The Information Technology department sent a technician to Qinghai to run maintenance and upgrade the computers in our offices at Xining and Huangnan. Please pray that these changes will greatly improve the communications and workflow between Hong Kong and Qinghai.

Give thanks! A private enterprise is very generously sponsoring trips to an educational theme park for children from our Mong Kok Service Centre for New Arrivals. Please pray that these inner city kids embrace this rare opportunity to learn about the animal kingdom.

Give thanks to God!
We are running a bridging programme for the special needs teens, (soon to be adults), moving out of Xining Children’s Home and into the Xining Social Welfare Institute. Please pray for the success of the programme; that these teens will have the same quality of care during their adulthood as they did during their childhood.

Over the summer, skill enhancement programmes for our Integrated Employment Assistance Service (IEAS) will continue to run. Please pray that the clients will regain their confidence through these training programmes, easing their re-entry into the job market.   8

Please pray for students who failed the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Exams as well as other early school leavers joining our Student Affairs & Youth Training Programme (YETP). We want to help them find direction, and give them renewed hope for the future.

The Hong Kong government has just completed a public consultation campaign regarding standard working hours for all. Please pray that Hong Kong people will secure a better quality of life through improved legislation in this area.        10

Cross-border family services commenced in Sheung Shui in July, thanks to a team of committed and compassionate staff. Please pray that the people we touch will be motivated to seek the Lord as our staff becomes Jesus’ hands and feet to them.

Our Training Services Division (TSD) will host an information day for participants of a recent family day camp. Please pray that they will understand how important it is to improve their skills in order to achieve their dreams for a better life.

Christian Action Asia (USA) will host a series of talks to share about our ministry on the Tibetan Plateau. Please pray that our donors and supporters will be inspired to help meet our HK$1.5 million fund-raising target. This will go a long way to help marginalized children in Qinghai.   16

Our Social Enterprise Division will be collecting good used household items donated by congregation members of St. Andrew’s Church this weekend. Please pray that people respond to appeals to support this drive, and be motivated to donate those household items they no longer need.

The training services department and Integrated Employment Assistance Programme will host a training day together next Wednesday. Please pray that the participants will learn about career possibilities, interviewing skills, and appropriate vocational training programmes; which will enable them to enter the workplace with confidence.      18

Hong Kong will be affected by the El Nino Phenomenon this year; so we are expecting a lot of heavy rain storms over the summer. Please pray for our street level fund raisers, and all our outdoor activities.

Tomorrow we will organize an exercise for our staff to better understand the needs of the catering industry so we can service that sector of the marketplace better.    20

Today is World Humanitarian Day. Please join us as we meditate on the scripture “to act justly; to love mercy and to walk humbly with our Lord” (Micah 6:8). May the Holy Spirit inspire more people to reach out to the poor in the community. Amen!

This weekend we will run a one-stop vocational training service carnival in an area surrounding our new training centre in Shun Tin. Please pray that unemployed members of the public will discover our training resources which can greatly improve their chance of entering into the workplace.   22

There will be a vision sharing tour to Qinghai for subscribers of the Friends of Qinghai Children Programme. Please pray that they will be moved by the plight and the challenges faced by children in Qinghai; and that they will reach even deeper into their pockets to support our ministry on the Tibetan Plateau.
