Community-Based Health Clinics

"One patient I will always remember is a two year old boy who was severely mauled by a dog out on the grasslands. His skull was clearly visible with a big gaping hole. Because the village closest to the family couldn’t treat the boy, he was brought here. I recall treating him and doing regular check-ups after he was discharged. He recovered very well... - which was impressive because he was living two-hours from here by horse!"

There are 20 to 30 lives saved every year in the community clinic in Zeku co-managed by Christian Action. There are doctors and nurses providing voluntary services for 24-hr treatment. In the coming future, this community clinic will continue to serve our poor residents and try our best to save every precious life.

Love and Hope Ambulance

With the funding support from a sincere donor of Christian Action, the Health Department in Zeku purchased an ambulance in November 2010.

The word "希望愛心車" (Car with hope & love) has been printed on the ambulance, letting it be known that the purpose of supporting this ambulance is to give hope and love to people who are in medical need.. It serves 16 rural villages and more than 10,000 people have benefited from it. The ambulance will provide services when there are any urgent cases which need to be sent to the clinic or hospital in town. When there are not enough medicines in Huangnan Zhou, "Love and Hope Ambulance" will help to purchase medicines.

"Love and Hope Ambulane" will transport doctors and nurses to give hygiene talks to residents. This shows that Christian Action not only focuses on medical support, but we also wish to promote some health care knowledge to people and help them to have a brighter future.

Dental Care Services

In addition to rural clinics, Christian Action also facilitates Dental Care Teams who have been coming to Qinghai since 1999 and provides month-long pro-bono service and dental health education to the people of GuiDe, Tongren and Zeku Counties. We look forward to letting residents know the importance of dental care.
