Charity Basketball Game

More and more corporates have been participating in community services to support the disadvantaged communities. City Telecom (CTI) is one of the corporates willing to undertake the social responsibility and encourage staff to take part in voluntary work. CTI and Christian Action held a "Charity Basketball Game-cum-Kick Off Ceremony of CTI Volunteer Team" on 30th August at Plaza Hollywood to help the low-income families and ethnic minorities in Hong Kong.

Mrs. Cheung Ang Siew Mei, Executive Director of Christian Action, Mr. John Lee Hon Ying, Independent Non-Executive Director of CTI and Miss Annie Sin, Director of Administration of CTI officiated at the kick off ceremony. The Charity Game between the CTI Volunteer Team and a Singer Team formed by Kevin Kwan, Charles Ying and Krusty was full of fun and excitement. CTI Team finally won the game and all proceeds of the event were to benefit the needy ethnic minorities and the new arrival families.

After the establishment of the CTI Volunteer Team, 30 team members immediately participated in Christian Action's flag day on 1st September 2007 to raise funds for us by selling flags. A charity green collection day was also organized by CTI and Christian Action in November 2007 to promote recycling among CTI staff. .

We would like to express our heartfelt thanks for CTI's support. We expect more corporates and companies will participate in community services and voluntary work, and join hands with us to help the deprived groups in Hong Kong.
