Originally from South Africa but currently residing in Hong Kong, Suzette has been dancing since age 3 with a background in ballet, modern, contemporary stage, and Latin. She has also been participating in drama (theatre) and musical events since the age of 6.

She was first introduced to Middle Eastern dance while working in Japan in 2000. She studied the art of Egyptian Raks Sharqi under Miss Kitty Lam. She also attended workshops directed under Master Yousry Shariff and has studied under him at a weeklong intensive in New York in 2007, while also attending workshops conducted under Aida Nour and Tito.

She is level one certified in the Suhaila Salimpour format and has just completed level 2 in the Salimpour format. (October 2008)

Her personal style in this dance form is cabaret fusion, and American Tribal Style.

She is also a qualified English teacher, Fitness, and yoga instructor, and is currently teaching in Hong Kong.

For Orientalia 2008, Suzette will be appearing onstage with Alice, Angie, Fanny, Henrika, Jacky, Jay, Kate, King, Molly, Rosita, Sammy, Scarlette, and Theresa.
