Sing Chung, 20 years old, enrolled in CA's Youth Pre-employment Training Programme in September 2004, after obtaining his HKCEE result. "The results were very disappointing and I did not know what should be the next step," said Sing Chung. His friends then recommended him to take the courses on Youth Pre-employment Training Programme.

Having completed the training course in Housekeeping, Sing Chung was placed in a renowned local hotel through our employer network. After the one-month internship, the hotel decided to employ Sing Chung due to his outstanding performance. "The training at Christian Action has enabled me to understand the operation of a hotel. I have acquired the essential communication and vocational skills in housekeeping, table setting and cleaning. All of these were very useful to me," Sing Chung cheerfully explained.

Recently, Sing Chung has received an offer in an international hotel group where he will have a better career development. "My communication skills were greatly enhanced through Christian Action's training and made me an outstanding candidate during the competitive interview." His next target is to become a Housekeeping Supervisor in the hotel.

"Sing Chung is one of the many youth who are very bright but not strong in the academic field. The programme gives him an alternative other than proceeding to Form 6. It gives them another chance when they are feeling helpless about their future," said Maggie Si, the social worker who is in charge of Sing Chung's case.
