Thank God that most likely the cross-border students living in mainland China will be allowed to attend in-person classes in Hong Kong this month, with students not required to register for crossing in advance.  Pray that the students can gradually get accustomed to their normal school life and can catch up on their academics soon.

For today and tomorrow, there will be a seminar on Anti-corruption and a workshop on Self-care and Resilience for our staff in Hong Kong, conducted by our partners from Norway. Pray that the event will go smoothly and that we can learn from their good practices and their experience so that we can strive to improve our service and to develop a fuller understanding of the role of resilience in self-care.

Please continue to pray for our "Season of Love" charity drive—the sale of cookies. Please pray for more charity booths to be available to sell the cookies. May God give our marketing team fresh energy and passion to sell, and may the donation income be abundant enough to support parts of our ministries in both Hong Kong and Qinghai.

Yesterday, we initiated the first of three sessions of “Lego Serious Play” for 20 mentees under the Child Development Fund programme. The goal of the workshop is to improve creative thinking and communication. Participants will gain insights into breaking habitual thinking & replacing it with innovative ideas. We pray that the mentees and the mentors will enjoy the workshop and, through play, get to know more about themselves.

Please pray for our first collaboration with Yan Fook Yuen Long Church for the two-weekend session workshops starting from yesterday. The workshop includes latte art and board games, and we also teach parents how to lead board games. Some of the instructors will share their testimonies of how they came to know Jesus. Pray that the testimony of the barista can be a blessing and an encouragement to these young people. May the Lord soften the hearts of the participants (students and parents), so that they will be attracted by the Good News and begin to attend the Church!

Today, we will have a physical meeting with our partner from Norway to discuss future collaboration. Pray that the Lord will guide how the meeting should go. We need wisdom for the Hong Kong’s staff during the meeting, on how to manage the expectations of our Norwegian partner and how to offer better service to the users in Qinghai China.

Today, Christian Action’s 38th Anniversary Volunteer Awards Presentation Ceremony will be held at Headquarters at Choi Wan. Pray that the event will go smoothly and in order, full of God’s grace and joy in the ceremony. Pray that more volunteers will join CA after hearing about the positives of participating in volunteer work and how they will be blessed serving the underprivileged in the community.

A Christian Action Scholarship for Excellence (CASE) scholarship presentation ceremony will be held this afternoon. We pray that God’s glory manifests itself in the Ceremony. We pray that through the support from us, these youngsters from grass root families will be able to better equip themselves and be ready to serve others after they graduated from the universities. Hope that they will discover that Jesus is the light and the truth.

The Child Development Fund (CDF) (Kwun Tong/Sai Kung) will undergo Social Welfare Department case checking and case management yesterday and today respectively. We pray for a smooth and easy time. We pray for wisdom to be upon our teammates when dialoguing with SWD’s staff. We thank you that their preparation precedes the blessings of the Lord for a job well done.

Today, two visitors from Basel, Switzerland will come to our Migrant Domestic Workers Centre and Shelter. Pray that they will see our good work and continue to support our ministries to help these vulnerable ladies.

This month, our Social Enterprise Department has launched several Green Collection Charity Drives in different housing estates in Kowloon. Pray that lots of used and new good-quality items will be collected.  These will be sold in our charity outlets throughout Hong Kong, the income will be used to support our various Charity works.

We are thankful that one of our partner churches is expanding their ministries in Choi Wan Estate, and we are even more thankful to be of assistance to them. Please pray that the Gospel will be spread in the Choi Wan neighbourhood, where CA serves low-income families and the elderly.

Mrs. Cheung-Ang Siew Mei, our Executive Director, is an Executive Member of the Hong Kong Church Network for the Poor (HKCNP). A special meeting will take place today on how churches and Christian agencies can come together to serve the poor. Pray that everyone in the ministry will be focused and unified in serving the poor in Hong Kong.

Yesterday was the Police Force's Used Clothing Collection Campaign Handover Cum Recognition Ceremony. We are grateful to be chosen as their collaboration partner with the opportunity to place a clothes collection bank / cage at each of the 22 disciplined staff quarters. The collection helps to raise the consumption concept of environmental protection, and the resale of the good clothing will help SED generate some money to pour back into serving the needy in Hong Kong.

Today, there will be a coffee brewing trial class at the Jordan Centre. We hope the coffee brewing and tasting workshop will provide participants with a basic knowledge about coffee. Pray for the trainees, that at the end of the introduction, they will become interested in the skills of coffee making and willing to be trained.  We pray that participants can also integrate into society after receiving training for their own well-being.

Continue to pray for the social inclusion programme collaboration with Chinese University (CU) students. The objective is to enhance the social inclusion capacity of the 15 Ethnic Minority (EM) youths who participated in the programme. Pray for mutual understanding and acceptance between the CU students and EM youths. Pray that through dialogue, they will have a better understanding of each other’s cultural, customary, and religious differences, willing to embrace and respect each other in harmony.

100 mentees will attend a programme on financial management today. Please pray that by the end of the programme, the mentees will have learned from their mentors and staff how to be good time and money managers. It is important for young people to have a good concept of how to spend and save wisely, to avoid spending and borrowing.   The wise store up choice food and olive oil, but fools gulp theirs down.  Proverbs 21:20

"20+ Young People " Free Job Fair 2023 is an ERB-funded event. A referral service will be provided to employers in the watch and jewellery businesses to help find suitable candidates. Employees can also register on-site and receive interviews. Please pray for a resounding success, good matching, good weather, and a large number of participants.

Through up-cycling or creative re-use to make good products from discarded materials, participants will become more environmentally conscious.  The earth is the Lord’s, and all it contains”. Give thanks to the Lord for His amazing blessings! During Chinese New Year, 1,500 blessing bags were distributed at our different service centres, including our partner NGOs, to low-income families, street sleepers and elderly singletons. Pray that these recipients will be touched by God’s love and care through our services. Thank you for your participation.

Our Ethnic Minority Service Team has organized a trip to Victoria Peak for 16 EM participants, with the goal of spending a free and easy day exploring some of Hong Kong's peak sites, getting to know the city, and having some good fellowship among themselves. Pray that everyone will have a safe journey and good time sharing and enjoying themselves.

Pray for Hong Kong’s government officials to have the ability to safely handle the city when it returns to normal. May God bring comfort to families who have lost family members to the virus. Pray for everyone in Hong Kong to continue to practice hygiene and vaccination protocols to keep everyone safe, although the quarantine requirements are now released.

Our Sheung Shui Centre held an environmentally friendly DIY handicraft class earlier this month.  Through learning to make gorgeous lanterns with used red packet envelopes, we want to promote the environmental message. Please pray for the participants to be conscious of a greener society.

Please keep praying for God's protection over the children in all the children's homes in Qinghai, China. Pray for good health and an adjustment back to normalcy. Pray that children will be able to return to school and adjust well. Let us give thanks that since the outbreak of COVID-19, He has looked after all the children and helpers and kept them safe.
