Our Social Enterprise Department (SED) was grateful to be one of the beneficiaries of the 2025 Book Recycling Programme, after the annual book fair held last month at the HK Convention & Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). Pray that we can continue to collect good-quality books for the children of our after-school care centres; so that they feel empowered and cared for, through our ministry.

Give thanks! Our On Tai Employment Support Services Centre (OTSC-EmSS)’s job fair “3rd Shot of Job Recruitment Session” held last month was a great success! Over 2,000 jobs from various industries including health care, chain caterers, retailing and others were offered on site; together with workshops covering essential job applications, interviewing skills and mental health. Pray that all participants will regain hope and self-confidence; and secure long-term employment very soon.

The OTSC will conduct a knitting class for ethnic minority (EM) girls this August. Pray that they will broaden their horizons through a variety of interest classes; thus, regaining the courage and confidence to map out their wonderful and brilliant future.

Today our Training Service Division (TSD) will host a job fair named as “勇闖「薪」動向招聘會” in Kowloon Bay to promote the Employee Retraining Board (ERB)’s training and re-training programmes where we will also conduct course enrollments. In parallel, we will offer on-site job applications, interviewing skills and career talks. Hopefully, we will continue to provide demand-oriented training programmes to help the trainees in seeking new jobs or job advancement.

Please pray for another shelter client under the Migrant Domestic Workers (MDWs) programme who will have her hearing at the Labour Tribunal this month which has been pending for more than a year. May His presence, providence and comfort be with her especially during this time of struggle and anxiety; and her court case will also be settled and resolved soon. Amen!

The Café Corner for health care workers in our SSC has launched different activities to do with board games, horticulture, music therapy and others this month. Pray that we would aid the welfare benefit recipients to improve their inter-personal skills and relieve their stress and learn how to shed their burden to our Lord as He cares for every one of us. Over the summer vacation, many of our child clients under our afterschool childcare programme returned to their hometowns in mainland China; and will be back soon. Pray for their safe and smooth trips; and come back to HK with a recharged and refreshed spirit. Amen!
