Please continue to pray for His divine wisdom and sensitivity for the government authorities, so as to tactfully deal with challenges, seen and unseen. May God also nurture the spiritual well-being of people across the city. Amen!

Let’s embrace the International Day of Charity with action today. It was established by the United Nations with a view to sensitizing and mobilizing people, NGOs and stakeholders all around the world, to help alleviate poverty worldwide through volunteer and philanthropic activities. Pray that compassionate people, especially Christians, would be called upon to follow what is said in the bible: . . .To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Our Ethnic Minorities Youth Ambassador Team will host an art class, focusing on canvas drawing techniques today. Pray that this creative journey will inspire them to express themselves freely through art, unlocking their creativity and inner voice. May they begin to see the beauty of God’s creation in their everyday surroundings and recognize how wonderfully unique they are, in the eyes of our Lord. Amen!

This September, our Information and Technology Department will roll out an anti-phishing drill to strengthen our cybersecurity awareness. Please pray for its smooth and successful implementation. May His presence be with us - guiding, protecting, and providing - as we navigate in our present digital world. Amen.

Our Sheung Shui Service Centre (SSC) will host a career talk next week, relating to the Security Service industry. The session will cover job specifications, entry requirements and career prospects, offering valuable insights to service users. Hopefully, this initiative will empower them to re-enter the workforce, with renewed strength and confidence.

Mrs. Cheung, in her capacity as JSCC Chairman, will meet Mr. Chris Sun, Secretary for Labour and Welfare Bureau, with some of the group members this morning, to express their concerns about labour policies and effects of the current wave of business closures, on the people’s livelihood and others. May God continue to guide her words and steps, to speak for the voiceless and present an impactful testimony of Our Lord!

Over the next two weeks, several physically handicapped residents of our Bridge Programme in Qinghai will be enjoying outings to nearby shopping malls and parks, closely accompanied by our dedicated China Programme staff. Pray for their safety and many joyful moments; and that they can feel integrated into society.

Our Mong Kok Service Centre is expanding its After-School care service, to support an additional 20 children from grassroots families. To achieve this, it has rented a new unit, next to its current office. Please pray for renovations to be completed successfully, on schedule. Amen!

On Tai Service Centre will conduct new interest-based classes, including football and knitting classes, to support and empower Ethnic Minority (EM) youth in the community. Pray that the initiative will foster creativity, teamwork and holistic personal growth, in a safe and inclusive environment.

We rejoice in the launch of the CA Alpha Workplace Programme, that began in mid-August at our Headquarters. Please continue to lift us up in prayer for the smooth implementation of the programme and for every participant to be deeply moved to follow Jesus Christ. Please pray that we serve and glorify Him through His Word and the Holy Spirit and show our fervent faith in Him.

Today, our Child Development Fund Long Ping Service Centre will organize a parent-child stretching activity, in collaboration with the mentors from our partner church. Pray that the mentees and their parents will be stimulated to seek God, through this 3-year CDF mentorship programme. They will also personally understand the essence of 1 Timothy 4:8a: For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, . . . .” May His name be glorified. Amen!

Our Social Enterprise Department will co-organize several ESG events at the public housing estates, with Hong Kong Housing Authority stressing the importance of Environmental, Social or Governance this month. Pray that we thrive on partnering with different green advocacy stakeholders, to provide environmental education for the public.

CA submitted the opinions about the government’s consultation on “Enhancing Regulation of Licensed Money Lenders” last month.
As public concern has intensified over excessive borrowing, especially unsecured personal loans taken out by low-income individuals, including the Foreign Domestic Helpers. Some borrowers may even obtain loans without thoroughly evaluating their ability to repay, which often leads to financial hardship and default. Pray for HIs wisdom and direction; that CA continues to be a voice, for the voiceless.

Today, our Training Services Division is conducting the job fair 「承先啟後 『創』新職招聘會」 at Lok Fu Plaza, offering valuable employment opportunities for individuals seeking jobs or career advancement; especially in the Wong Tai Sin District. Please pray that our on-going efforts in providing vocational training programmes and job market information, will give them a lift, motivation to pursue their dreams.

Starting this month, our Migrant Domestic Workers (MDWs) Programme service team will host a series of workshops titled “Beyond Survival”. These sessions aim to empower MDWs who live and work far from their home countries. Pray that we will safeguard these women from the risks of sexual harassment; that they will feel truly cherished, protected, and cared for. Amen!

Beginning this month, our OTSC has launched a new initiative called the “3Cs Programme”, emphasizing 3 key areas: Chinese tutorial classes, Chance for workplace tours and Career workshops. They are designed to support EM youth in exploring and shaping their future career paths. Pray for student’s success, as we strive to empower them toward greater social mobility and a brighter future.

With generous support from a private funder, our Mong Kok Service Centre will hold a Chinese Language competition today, on the use of Chinese at our Christian Action Centre in Choi Wan, specially designed for its EM children. Pray that all participants will enjoy the event, gaining fun practical skills to enrich their daily lives.

Our Ethnic Minorities Youth Ambassador team has been conducting outreach activities twice a week, building bridges and nurturing connections. Pray that we continue to cultivate a cohesive, compassionate community upholding cultural integration and mutual respect. Amen!

The recent spell of stuffy days and heavy downpours have placed additional strain on our Administration Department. Their work is vital to our smooth operations, though it often goes unseen. Please join us to pray for God’s protection and provision over our dedicated staff and all those we serve; and conserve our steadfast faith in HIM as He said, "My grace is sufficient for you, ..." 2 Corinthians 12:9a. Amen!

Sponsored by a kind philanthropist, 50 beneficiary children and teenagers from Mong Kok Service Centre, will receive free eye examinations at a local optical shop in Mong Kok. Those found in need of corrective lenses, will be gifted a complimentary pair of glasses. Pray that we continue to collaborate with different parties to share the burden of the deprived sector, so that they feel loved and cared for by the community. Amen!

From now to November, we are organizing a series of event-themed community-based initiatives, with the objective of fostering racial harmony in Wong Tai Sin. Let’s pray in unison that the neighbours of all backgrounds, across races, ages and faiths, will embrace the community with a deeper sense of unity and belonging, through this endeavour.

We will hold a community event to celebrate the 76th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China, cum a special blessing for the Wong Tai Sin District (WTS) today. As part of the event, a complimentary Traditional Chinese Medicine on Ai treatment, will be offered to our senior neighbours. May we continue to extend our goodwill throughout the city and that the public will recognize CA, as a light to the city. Amen!

Our Centre for Refugees Team has successfully implemented different summer programmes including camping for refugee children. Pray that the clients treasure these precious opportunities and can feel the community’s love and care through our endeavours.

Our Social Enterprise Department has launched several events under “Green Collection Charity Drives” in different private housing estates of Kowloon this month. Pray that our goodwill will spread further across Hong Kong and more people will embrace our green collection programme.

Beginning in October 2025, the Employment Support Services (EmSS) under the Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) Scheme, will be replaced by the two-year Support Programme for the Unemployed (SPU).
Please pray for a smooth and effective transition and that CSSA recipients will be well-equipped and empowered, to pursue independent living. May this new initiative help reduce their reliance on social assistance, support their re-entry into the job market and foster meaningful re-integration into society.
