Maggie MacNeil was adopted from China to Canada and recently became an Olympic champion after winning a gold medal in Toyko. She's taken the internet by storm as Chinese netizens recognise how fortunate Maggie was to be adopted by supportive parents.

Christian Action also has a Super champion in Qinghai. Although he's not an Olympian, Renqing is a social worker helping orphans and comes from humble beginnings like Maggie. Even though they had tough starts in life, both were able to reach their full potential with help from kind people.
Renqing: Then and Now
Renqing came to Huangnan Children's Home as a mischievous 9-year-old after his parents’ divorce and his grandfather’s inability to care for him. Now, he is a 24-year-old social worker serving at the same community where he grew up!

Transformation
Renqing misbehaved when he first arrived at the Children’s Home (the Home), but he began to change after receiving unconditional love and care from Christian Action (CA). With constant encouragement from the Home, he became a class leader in secondary school.
A few years later, he pursued a professional course in social work followed by a CA internship programme. Renqing deeply felt the “love and selflessness” from CA staff at the Home and decided to give back to his community.

Qinghai Champion
Renqing is now passionately working full-time at Christian Action as a social worker supporting vulnerable children and youth. He mentors, encourages and inspires them just as he was cared for as a child. Christian Action, together with our partners, empowered Renqing with sincere love and care. He grew strong and eventually returned to serve orphans and children at risk. He is our super champion!
We aim to nurture more children, like Renqing, to become the next generation of positive contributors to society.
