Emergency COVID-19 Relief Packs

Rise up for Love
Walk with the Poor
Donate for Relief Packs

The fifth wave of the pandemic spread rapidly in Hong Kong. This has had a profound impact on the economy and caused many people to lose their jobs. At the same time, anti-epidemic goods usually available in the market were in short supply and the price had been raised to such a level that it was unaffordable for grassroots families. At that difficult time, Christian Action initiated an “Emergency COVID-19 Relief Pack” campaign to enable individuals to respond to their feelings of genuine concern for the community.

Christian Action was grateful for the timely private contributions and in-kind donations from different charity partners, which enabled us to successfully prepare over 5,000 “Emergency COVID-19 Relief Packs” in a remarkably short period of time, benefitting over 10,000 individuals in need.

Each Emergency COVID-19 Relief Pack contained rapid test kits, a variety of drugs, an electronic thermometer, supermarket cash vouchers, food, and other anti-epidemic products. Whenever the bags were delivered into the hands of service users, they always told us that the relief pack was very useful.

To meet the immediate challenges of our service users including low-income families, the elderly, migrant domestic workers, and refugees, Christian Action’s front-line workers distributed anti-epidemic items from our service centres; as well as paid personal visits (in spite of the risk of infection,) to clients at different locations in our community, to ensure that everyone was well protected.

Additional funds raised from this campaign will be used for Christian Action's “Emergency Fund” in support of vulnerable people. We are sending a special “Thank you” to all our donors and charity partners for their generous support and donations towards these “Emergency COVID-19 Relief Packs”.
